Serial meaning 2.5mm stereo headphone looking jack to DB9 or "atari joystick" looking plug? I had one on my first Toshiba PDR-M1 camera but that was like 9 years ago. You can probably find the pinouts online for that cable, I believe it is a standardized cable.

The stereo plug is wired to the PC serial port as shown in the following diagram:
tip ring sleeve +---------------------------------+
| |
/-------+-----+--------------+ |
| RxD | Gnd | TxD | 2.5 mm Stero Plug |
\-------+-----+--------------+ |
| |
DB9*: pin 2 pin 5 pin 3 +---------------------------------+

DB9*: Optionally short together pin 4 (DTR) to pin 6 (DSR) and
pin 7 (RTS) to pin 8 (CTS)
The following table also describes the camera cable's wiring: Camera PC's
Plug DB9* Signal Name Direction
---- ---- ----------- ---------
- 1 Carrier detect (CD) input to PC
tip 2 Receive data (RxD) input to PC
sleeve 3 Transmit data (TxD) output from PC
- 4 \ Data terminal ready (DTR) output from PC
ring 5 | Signal ground (Gnd) -
- 6 / Data set ready (DSR) input to PC
- 7 \ Request to send (RTS) output from PC
- 8 / Clear to send (CTS) input to PC
- 9 Ring indicator (RI) input to PC
* Note that the cable's D-subminature DB9 RS-232 serial port connector is female. This connector also goes by the historically more correct name of "DE-9J".

How I can recover the photos from my camera if accidentally erased

First of all, you should stop saving any new files to your camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures.

Then find some photo recovery software from the following websites, which are able to recover deleted or formatted photos and movies from cell phone, digital camera, memory card and SD card etc.

Digital Photo Recovery for Windows

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software.
Step 2: Connect your Sony cybershot camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to your PC.
Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located.
Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive.

Best regards!

Hello, I have a samsung es55 camera and need to retrieve some pictures after they have been deleted. I have looked online and it seems this is possible through accessing the recycle bin, thought I can't...

I'm working on the premise that you've deleted the photos from your camera memory or memory card.

If you have and used them since, its unlikely that you'll be able to retrieve them, you could have already over written them.

Its unlikely that you've deleted to your recycle bin, thats on your PC, usually already on your desktop. Camera's normally delete for good.

However, check your pc recycle bin, just double click onto it, it should be on your desk top. Once open you can choose to restore deleted files.

There are 2 file recovery programmes available for free from "filehippo.com" called "recuva" and "PC Inspector File Recovery 4.0". Download and install either of these onto your pc and recover from you camera memory to your pc (just create a folder on you desktop".

Good luck.

Yes, that's one of your option but it would be better to purchase a cable compatible to your camera and download the software that supports the camera. You can get the software at www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw

I lost my disc for my cannon eos 300D digital rebel. I have a new computer and no disc to install my camera. Can you help me? Gayla Essig

There are plenty of FREE photo editors available on the Internet. If you have a USB cable, you can connect your PC and camera -- and copy pictures from the memory card to your hard drive. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions.
BTW, two pretty good FREE photo editors are:
  1. GIMP
  2. Picasa (by Google)
I hope this helps. If it does, please be sure to rate the solution. Regards, Char1ieJ

CanI use a non-EPSON AC adapter?

EPSON only guarantees the EPSON AC adapter for the PhotoPC 500. Other non-EPSON AC adapters are not recommended for use because they may damage the camera and possibly void the warranty.
