Overfilling loads can cause small objects like pins, coins, and small socks to get between the tub abd Basket of your washer.

The basket is held onto the rear half of the outer tub simply by the bolt to the main pulley.
Remove the bolt, remove the pulley, and the basket shaft should slip right out of the bearings of
the rear tub.

Simply shining a light around between the basket and outer tub should confirm that there is something in there, since you have access to do this with
the front tub removed. Go ahead, remove the pulley and bolt, and if
the basket comes out, then check everything out.

If it doesn't, don't try pounding it out; stop there and go to plan B, which is a new basket
and tub assembly.

Why does my Kenmore Elite HE3 fill with water when it's off

The water valves are leaking usually from grit in the seat of the valve. They are a pair and can be easily replaced.

Check the tensioner pulley that keeps the belt tight. It is next to the motor and the bearing may be shot.

Clean drain screen on HE3 washer? I would like to clean the drain screen, but wanted to know how complicated it is getting to it and ease of cleaning it and replacing it. Thanks

if you talking about the drain trap, its very easy to clean. pop open the bottom panel by removing the three screws under it. requires a torx bit or a nut driver. if you can tilt the washer back so the front legs are a foot or 2 off the ground, it will make this a lot easier. once open you will see a twist off cap. before you remove this be prepared for the residual water to eject out when you open it. these can not get all the water out so there is always some, tilting it back will minimise this or putting hose clamps on the pump to tub hose can help but not nesesarry. twist it out and clean it out, also stick your fing into the two holes where the trap is located to see if any coins have gotten stuck. once clean, make sure you line up the trap arrow with the base. then button it back up, good luck

Kenmore HE3 washer started knocking and shaking during spin.

indicates that the tub support rods have failed at the air dampners
the fix is new rods from the service agent spares and a re levelling if the tub ,not the machine

My kenmore elite HE3 elec dryer, model # 11082826101,has a loose piece in the dryer drum, how do I take the top off to fix it?

There are three screws that hold the top panel in place in the rear of the dryer. Remove these screws and the panel will slide back, then lift off. You should have access the outer perimeter of the drum, control board and control panel.

If you need to access the dryer bottom cabinet, remove the lower toe panel directly below the door. The panel comes off by removing the screws under the bottom front edge. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down and then come off.

NOTE: Propping the two front feet of the dryer up can offer better access to the toe panel screws ( a section of 2x4 works well for this).

There are some helpful exploded view diagrams you can use for reference at these following websites:

Small items (like coins) can often get caught in the dryer drum baffles. They come off easily by removing the screws that hold them on place around the drum perimeter.

CAUTION: Make sure you UNPLUG the dryer before servicing anything inside the cabinet. Dangerous voltage is still present even with the dryer turned off.

Kenmore HE3 stuck in delay cycle and won't unlock or cancel

YOu more than likely have suds in your washer, or an extremely unbalanced load. push the pause cancel button twice, that should unlock the washer. open the washer, and look inside. Is there a lot of suds, or towels that are tangled up? If so, add some fabric softener to the wash tub and do a rinse drain spin (for suds) for the extremely unbalanced load, take the towels (or what ever load you are doing) and put about 1/2 of them in. I have the same washer and have experienced this "problem" once or twice in 7 years. And those were the two culprits. Hope that helps

Noise under drum

1) Round the door seal - happens all the time on all sorts of machines. 2) Wait for it to find its way into the hose going down to the drain pump, then dig it out from there. (You might want to check that there isn't already something stuck in the hose preventing your mystery object making this most natural of journeys). A.
