FL could be a code for low flow. If you have no circulation this sounds like it. If your pump runs and you have no flow you could have a problem with your pump. Or if you have the tub drained then it could be an air lock, if you open the drain valve till you get water out that should fix that. Also check to be sure the isolation valves are open under the spa. I hope this helps.

In the QCA Spas owners manual the FL symbol represents low flow in your hot tub. This can occur for many reasons including the following.

  • Dirty hot tub filters
  • Air lock
  • an obstruction in your hot tub lines
  • an obstruction in your skimmer or in front of your hot tub suctions
Its a good idea to clean or change the hot tub filters and then check the suction areas to remove any debris. You may have an air lock. To remove an air lock just partially open a union near the pump to allow the air to release from the line.

Heater

Water heater can be added to any incoming water line, either on hot or cold.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-under-counter-water-heater.html
Under-counter water heater located near tub will supply hot water just like ordinary household water heater. But it will not reheat water that circulates inside the spa tub.
Otherwise, a spa heater is made with electric element that can work with 120V or 240V. Water from tub circulates through tank that holds element. Element must be fully immersed in water.
To retrofit spa tub with this heater would require cutting water line near pump, running both ends of water line into tank with element.
Then of course you would need to retrofit adjustable thermostat to control when element is on. And integrate element operation into air control switch at tub that can override thermostat so element is not heating when tub is not in use.
Unless there is a pre-packaged kit to retrofit heater, I think adding heater would be difficult.

What does the "FL" code

Fl stands for FLOW error code. This means that either the pump is not pushing enough water, or the pressure switch that senses water flow through the heater is not functioning. This are inexpensive and easy to fix yourself if it is just the pressure switch. Look on or near your heating element for a small disk switch with two wires coming out of it. Remove and replace this part.

While engine running, does the air feel warm to hot blowing through the radiator, if it does water is circulading, if it feels cold, replace thermostat.

My maytag neptune mah550bww will not start up , gives a code FL

The FL error code means:
Flood Condition: FL flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed

With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10 seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is discontinued to the unit.

Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

This problem i see on these are the water pumps getting clogged with lint or other things, causing the pump not to pump all of the water out at times.

There is a backup valve or flap in the drain assembly that seems to sometimes cause problems with the FL error code. Remove this piece to see if it helps.

If this is a new installation - check that the hoses arent reversed (cold on hot and hot on cold). This will also cause the FL error.

QCA Opal hot tub display reading OH.

The tub experienced an overheat situation. This may be due to leaving the t stat turned all the way up and not monitoring or the hi-limit sensor is defective. The hi-limit sensor will shut down the heating cicuit if temp gets above 105 D optimally.the fact that the heater light is on is a good sign that things are working at this point.Whether or not a suitable temp(100-103 D) will be arrived at is to be seen. If spa heat kicks off before set temp is reached then replace hi-limit sensor.

Pump is running ever 5 minutes. The heat in the

Sounds as if the 'mode' for the tub is set to sense the temperature of the water. see if there is a setting on the control box to a 'timed' setting for filtering and heating instead of controlled by the temperature setting. the problem is the the control box is away from the water and when it calls for heat it is because the water is cooler there than in the hot tub. so when it calls for heat and the water starts to circulate it gets the hot water from the body of the hot tub and then shut down because it senses the 'hot water'. make sense?

Hot tub will not stay warm

You must keep your circulator pump running if you want the water to stay hot. The water is being heated inside the pipes but it isn't getting circulated until you turn on the jets pump.

Please provide brand and model number of machine so I can tailor a reply toward your specific washer...
