yes you do not have ot give straight talk any info about yourself you do not have to buy anything other then their activation kit its 60 dollars and comes with a 45 $ card. you just need to tell them you would like to bring your moto g to straight talk you have b ought the activation kit and would like to set up a new number and when they ask for your address email and other info just say i would like to not give out any personal info. I work retail and deal with this all the time.

Im not sure if it has anything to do with the sim. I checked on this with 2 techs and they say its prob an issue with the phone itself. I do tech support for several large carriers and I see that this is most likely something to address with a tech at Straight Talks side too.

you don't think that dropping it and it coming apart did some thing to the internals that has messed with the program or chip
take it to a phone repair shop and have the problem properly diagnosed

Hello, sounds like either your power cord/charger isn't working or your battery in your phone is bad. Try taking the battery out for at least 2 mins or more and put back in and try charging. If no of this works, and u bought the phone from straight talk, call cust support for straight talk or the manufacturer of the phone, they will walk you thru trouble shooting and get your phone fixed for you.
