We have a Philips Magnavox Model #TP3284C101 TV and plugged in a Durabrand DVD Model #DVD1002 player to it. It will only play in black and white on this TV. But when we plug the DVD player into another TV...

It sounds like you have a standard problem.
Is the TV you are using, that gives the black and white picture, the same as the other ie, both NTSC or PAL and both on RGB or Y-C or S-Video?
Check to see what is required and set the DVD player accordingly.
Hope that helps.

I hooked my player up to my RCA tv, but it will not show a picture when I record a TV program. I have cable. What am I doing Wrong

You might have an INPUT going to an INPUT, or vice versa. Always make sure that an INPUT goes to an OUTPUT and an OUTPUT goes to an INPUT. If this is not the problem, then you have a faulty cable somewhere, test it and if faulty, replace it. Good luck to you!

No owners manual can't get new blue ray dvd player to work on tv

Here is the manual:

When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port.  Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.
