Resetting the senao eoc-3220 long range wireless access point/bridge

Pls kindly tell me how to reset the eoc-3220 to default setting

  • Anonymous Mar 03, 2008

when i telnet into my eoc3220+ unit(via hyperterminal), it drops me into a linux shell prompt. using 'help' command shows list of shell built-in commands. i have a little bit of knowledge of linux and was able to use 'ifconfig' to obtain ip information. but i don't know how to reset the username and password. there is no built-in 'ls' command so i can't list commands in any of the bin and sbin directories. what happened to the user interface that was available in the 2611cb5 model?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start a HyperTerminal session: Click Start and then select Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> HyperTerminal. c. Set baud rate as "38400", data bits "8", parity "none", stop bits "1", and flow control as "None". Then press "OK" to bring up the HyperTerminal window.

You should use the superuser account via SMTP, that is all I am saying, as it is a weakness as well as a strength.

Good luck!!

My Seneo 3220 has changed its mac and gone to Realtek, can not log on to it any more, think its lost Engenius software. nigel 2205

I have no idea what it means for a Senao to "go to Realtek."
Here is the factory reset procedure for the Senao EOC-3220:

An RS-232 null modem serial cable is required for this procedure.

1. Connect the EOC-3220 to your computer with a null modem serial cable.

2. Start a HyperTerminal session: Click Start and then select Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> HyperTerminal.

3. After the HyperTerminal window appears:

a. Give this new connection a name. Ex: EOC-3220.

b. Select correct COM port. Ex:COM1.

c. Set baud rate as "38400", data bits "8", parity "none", stop bits "1", and flow control as "None". Then press "OK" to bring up the HyperTerminal window.

4. Wait until the "#" is displayed in the HyperTerminal window.

5. Type "flash reset", then hit enter.

6. Type "reboot", then hit enter. After the device reboots, all settings will be at factory default.

Problem using 2nd hand AP senao EOC3220 EXT

You can use this unit either as an access point, to provide wireless access to a network you already have, or as a bridge, to access a remote wireless network someone else has.
Note that you own the EXT model, meaning that you have to attach your own antenna to the connector before it will function. There is no internal antenna on this model.

Configuration instructions are available at
EOC-3220 Series User Manual

Trying to get into my engenius 3220.using 192.168.1.254

If you have lost track of what IP address you have assigned your 3220, you can use the serial reset procedure documented here to return it to factory defaults:

Hi
I had the same problem. This may be as simple as pressing the enter button on your computer keyboard after all the activity stops. This brought up the number sign for me after which everything else in the reset procedure worked fine.

After a windy day lost wireless connection

For a new unit disconnect the eoc from the network and connect directly (through POE injector of course) to your laptop/pc.  then in network connections setup your lan port TCP/IP settings as follows.  ip 192.168.1.10 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 then gateway 192.168.1.1

point your browser to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2 (one if it is in AP mode and the other address works if it is in bridge mode).

When configuring, I assign it an new static IP outside of the DHCP assignment range.

To see how it is setup afterwords you can use hyperterminal with a null modem cable to view the current config.  instructions on the engeniustech.com support page.

AP Mode Problems

Probably you have to learn that there are various people looking for an access of the internet through your facilities. Anyway, inorder to solve your problem these are the following recommendation I made just for you. Hope this will be helpful.

PHASE I
1.) How do I reset the EOC-3220 / EOC-3220 EXT / EOC-3220+ back to factory default settings? An RS-232 null modem serial cable is required for this procedure.
(where to buy it : http://www.keenansystems.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=221)

Then press “OK” to bring up the HyperTerminal window.

4. Wait until the "#" is displayed in the HyperTerminal window.

5. Type "flash reset", then hit enter.

6. Type "reboot", then hit enter. After the device reboots, all settings will be at factory default.

Phase II

1.) Since that you already reseted the AP you need to use the default IP which is 192.168.1.1 user: admin password: admin

2.) Make it sure you need to use different IP such as 72.10.251.xxx and the subnet: 255.255.255.xxx

3.) The idea of configuration in come from your own desire which was no body can no longer try to match your network IP so that there will be no body access your AP anymore without your knowledge.

4.) You need to make you SSID invisible to everyone inorder no body no longer able to reach your SSID by setting up basic setting which is transparent to everyone.

5) And lastly change the default user and password of your AP.

Good Luck
