MAJOR leak in new JUST installed WCVH6800 front load washer

Brand new JUST installed WCVH6800 front load washer. FIRST load, ALL the water leaks into the pedestal drawer immediately as soon as it tries to fill! If not for that pedestal drawer catching the deluge I would be looking at thousands in water damage! The water is NOT leaking out of the door. It is coming from down below the washer at the front and dropping into the pedestal drawer. The door and its immediate outside area is as dry as can be. Installation was by the book. Any ideas out there?

If you hear of a solution, let everyone know. Our machine did the same thing. From the research I have seen, GE makes **** machines and I will NEVER buy a GE product again.

Water leaks out of the pump? Do I have to replace the pump, or is there a seal or gasket that could be replaced?

On most major brand top load washers today the pump comes as a complete unit. There are no seals you can replace. On some brands where the pump has its own motor sometimes you can replace just the motor. LG front load washers have this type of pump. Hope that helps

My front loading washer always fills with water when i am not using it

It sounds like one of the automatic water fill valves in the machine is leaking water when washer is off and the valves are closed. There are two manual water supply valves at the wall behind the washer, one for hot water and one for cold. Close the manual hot water supply valve and allow the washer to sit and see if it fills with water. If it does fill, then the cold water automatic fill valve is leaking. If not, then open the hot water manual supply valve and close the cold water manual supply valve. Allow the washer to sit again and see if it fills. If it does then the hot water automatic fill valve is leaking. Replace the leaking valve in your washer. You can order the new valve online using washer brand and model number on a appliance parts web store, or maybe even find it at a local appliance parts store.

Leak under new washing machine

It sounds like the rubber door bellow is leaking. You may have a loose clamp that secures it to the drum, which could have happened during shipping. Or, you may have a small rip or tear in the bellow, leaking drain hose(s), or drain pump. In any case, if you just purchased this washer, the washer comes with a one year limited warranty and should be repaired at no cost to you. I would not recommend trying to disassemble anything as this will void any existing warranty you may have. I would recommend you contact the dealership in which you purchased the appliance from or find a reputable appliance repair company. Sears repairs all major brands regardless or whether or not you purchased it from. If you cannot find your purchase receipt, the validity of your warranty will be determined by the date of manufacture on your appliance (which is the SERIAL NUMBER). I hope you find this information encouraging and helpful.

Water leak on occasion front load washer purchased around 2002/03

You need to remove the kick panel (under the front door). There are two screws at the very bottom of the kick panel, one in each corner.
This will give you visibility to see where the leak is coming from.
On the right hand side is the drain pump. The black hose goes from the pump, out the rear and into your drain pipe. It is secured by a clamp and is one possible source of leak.
If that connection is dry, look underneath the tub where the two parts, front and back of drum, come together. there is an o ring sealing the two sections and this is another source of water leak. (major problem is this is leaking)
Failing this you will just have to trace the source of the leak. You may have to take off the top of the washer to check the water inlet hoses which run on the top of the machine but would still show as a leak under the machine. Good luck.
