Dell Inspiron 1525 how to resolve the "Time of day clock stopped" error message and cannot access setup - HELP!!!
Hi,
This is one of the known issues with the Inspiron 1525 computer. The problem is caused by faulty cmos battery. If you computer is in warranty kinldy call Dell to get the same replaced . if the system is out of warranty. You would need to replace the CMOS battery ie below the keyboard.
You can follow the instructions below
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins1525/en/SM/coinbatt.htm#wp1179839
Thanks

We performed this procedure only to have the error reappear 24 hours later.
After replacing the battery twice on my sister's laptop within a couple of months, the system still showed a "Time-of-day clock stopped" message. Found out that it is the clock module, itself, that goes bad on this model (faulty component from Dell). I sent it to aqstech to have the motherboard repaired...
