How to set the password on Device manager for Nortel switches
I have nortel 4548GT-PWR and 8600 series switches, for the management i have device manager, now i want to put the password on device manager for login into that switches. any one can help me.

you need to reset the setting before you can get the access to the device. Hard reset should be good. once done, plugin to your existing LAN, discover the IP taken via DHCP. configure the device.
Web interface should help you to do quick configuration.
there might be looping issue, please unplug all the cables from the switch and then put one by one cable in each switch port and make sure that both ends or the cable should not plug to the swithc... also check in your network there wont be virus infected pc or device..

ON NORTEL DO A FEATURE 983 PASSWORD IS GOING TO BE 120000 AND THAT WILL PROMPT YOU THRU RESETING THE PASSWORD IF THAT DOES NOT WORK DO A FEATURE 985 PRESS 9THEN TYPE IN (RESET SM ) THEN TYPE IN (PSWD) AND IT WILL GO BACK TO DEFAULT . PS THE SM STANDS FOR SYSTEM MANAGER
