YM sign-off/sign-on problem

i got the same problem with my ym 11 too.. but honestly looks like its ym problem that it may just work whenever it want to.. :( but try this.. open Yahoo Messenger click on "Messenger" (on top), choose "Connection Preferences" select "Connect via Proxy Server" try to log in ..
if it doesn't work put it back to the original settings, same instruction go to YM, click Messenger then Connection Preferences select "Connect directly to the Internet".. this time try to disconnect your internet connection first.. and then with your YM open enter your username & password but dont click "connect" yet.. connect to internet & log in to ym (you should click "connect on ym right after a second you are connected to the internet)

try to uninstall your ym and install it again..

Few sugesstions :

1) Uninstall your current YM, restart your pc/laptop, then try installing a new one. 2) If it does not work, check whether if your windows is installing new updates, sometimes YM does crash when window is updating. If you are using Win7, then just go to: --> Control panel/ System & security/ Windows Update/ Change setting
In the setting panel, you will see " Important Updates " box selection. Change it to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download & install them". Restart your pc/laptop, then try log in to your YM.

3) *This step won't be necessary but won't do any harm too, go to Control Panel --> System & Security --> System --> Advance System Settings. In the " Advance " tab, click "setting" at the " performance " column. Select " Data Execution Prevention ", select " Turn on DEP for all programs & services except those i select", insert your YahooMessenger.exe (C:/Program Files/Yahoo!/Messenger/YahooMessenger) into the add list. Restart PC/laptop & try to log in to YM.
** If it still crash, then your internet connection might be the problem, & also, Yahoo! can be down sometimes too.

maybe caps stuck on with no light ???
or
maybe one key is repeating itself , check the amount of charachters in your password and then check what is shown in YM PW box
or
type password into notepad and then copy and paste into pw box

this time your YM is ok... click file or sign-in and find preferences and choose your into your designated internet provide, example dial-up, broadband, ISP,, just choose... no need to uninstall...

I also have Vista on my pc and downloaded YM 9.0 when i installed it - it stop at 99%. So I tried to uninstall it but gives me the error "cannot find uninstall log file" , so what I did was downloaded YM 8.0 and my YM was installed properly

hi , i also had the same problem, but i was able to fix it. dont know if its only for a while.
what i did was i uninstalled then installed Yahoo messenger . . then right click on the yahoo icon and select administrator . then the YM will pop out but still you cannot log in .

i then started to update my norton antivirus and then after it had installed the updates, restart your computer. after that dont know how it happened but it was fixed. i can log in

I'd suggest booting into Safe Mode (press F8 after the POST information is finished on bootup) and then you should see an option for Administrator. If you can sign in successfully there, go to Control Panel and create a new account under User Accounts. Boot normally after that and see if you can sign in the new account.

Two questions: 1) is this XP or Vista? and 2) did you recently make any significant changes to the software (namely try to change the Certificate of Authenticity)? If what I suggested works, I'd say boot into Safe Mode again and then run System Restore for Windows. Set the system back to about a week ago and try logging in normally.

hey there, since YM 9 is still beta, i cant really say why your having that type of error.

are you using the latest YM? why not try downloading the latest YM but before installing it, uninstall some unwanted programs or those that you dont use anymore...free some disk space.

then try installing the latest YM now.
