Brother DCP-1300 i have an optima computer and when i try to install this printer it says i dont have the right software ? PLZZ HELPP! x

Select "Drivers" from the first window.

It will then bring up a page to choose your operating system. Select the appropriate one.

Then you will select your language. (English by default)

Click the Search button.

A new page will open. Click on "More Information" for the driver/software package.

A new page will then open with a "Download" button. Click it.

When the Download window opens, Select "Save" and save it where you know where to access it to install after the download. If you are not sure how to save it to a certain folder, save it to "Desktop" so it will be right there when you are done.

install driver software that came with printer install usb cable to printer turn it on if you dont have disk go to www.brother .com and download driver

Have you made the brother printer the default?
Have you installed the OCR software?
Some OCR software packages prefer you to scan into a document.
I use a HP unit that will not allow me to scan a document unless I scan it into a compatible software format, written or typed pages into WORD, photos in photoshop etc.
Try uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it again
Turn off, any anti virus and firewall software you may have running and if you can update the software from within itself, update it
Dont forget to turn your anti virus and firewall software on after you have finished
go to the Brother website and download the latest drivers for use with your chosen operating system

uninstall by help of aggressive remover tool (download from www.brother.com)
after restart install drivers again and WAIT until software demands the printer connection to PC USB (NOT HUB!!!!).

Im not sure what you mean so please take this advise:

Look inside the installation manual which was given to you with the printer (first steps). In case you dont have it please download from brother homepage.

The move the software completely. Shut down the computer. Unplug the device. Get offline and disable the A/V program. Now reinstall and do exactly what the prompts say- no short cuts.
