My dryer does not heat. Fuse, thermostats, heat element all have continuity, power chord is good, 240v at plugin... stumped. It is a model # LER4634BQ1 Whirlpool SN# ME4471484

    It's weird that your dryer won't heat even though the heat element and fuse have continuity. Mine is a bit warm, but not hot enough to properly dry my clothes. I haven't checked the heating element, so maybe I'll do that before I call an appliance repair service. http://sbzappliances.com/

It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating element is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours has ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.

Thermal Fuse

Another possible cause for a dryer not heating up could be attributed to a faulty thermal fuse. Once a dryer's thermal fuse has blown, it is no longer of any use. If your dryer's fuse is blown, you will have to replace it. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal fuse so that you can test it.

If any of your dryer's thermostats have become defective, they could be the reason that your dryer is not heating. Open up your dryer's cabinet and test each of your dryer's thermostats. If any are faulty, replace them.

Model lec8858eq2 no heat checked all replaced bad heating element everything else has continuity. Only thing I'm stumped is continuity reads 9 on fuse connected right by heating element help!!!!! W

Check your power source. The controls use 120V, but the heater uses 240V. Also, check for loose connections on power source.

(Make sure power is disconnected when checking continuity.)

I have a dryer model mde3706ayw that is not heating up...i have replaced the heating element, thermal fuse and both the high limit and cycling thermostats and still all im getting is cool air...the timer...

Check to be sure that you have 240v at the terminal block. If you replaced all those parts, there is nothing left to check. Either you don't have 240v or one of those parts is bad.

The dryer is not heating

Hello there here is a list of things to check
Testing with an ohm meter checking on a dryer....
These are the places that pass voltage to the heater elements on an electric dryer. In order to check a dryer for no heat, here is a list of places to check. Remember to always unplug the appliance before starting testing with an ohm meter. Always remove wires from the part you are testing with an ohm meter ( write down what goes where first before removing any wires ).
Meter testing and usage tips.
1. Power supply-check power supply at terminal block where cord enters the dryer. Should read 240V. If you read 240V here, tested with a volt meter, unplug dryer and test components with ohm meter.
2. Thermostats-Cycle and safety thermostats-read them with an ohm meter. Should show continuity . How common thermostats work.
3.Timer-The timer has a set of contacts that pass voltage to the heaters. If you can not determine by wiring picture what they are, check across the two terminals with the largest wires on them. The heater wires are almost twice as large as the others. You should read continuity with timer in heat mode.
4. Thermal fuses-In recent years the makers of dryers are using thermal fuses to let you know something is wrong with your dryer. They are generally non resetting and have to be replaced. The thermal fuses are located on the heater element housing and should read continuity if read with an ohm meter. Most blown thermal fuses are the result of vent/air flow problems or a grounded heating element.
5. Selector Switches-Read the wiring picture and determine which switch is closed. You should read continuity across closed switches.
6. Safety Switch on Motor-There is a safety switch on motor to insure that heaters can not come on unless motor is running. It is normally open when the motor is idle/not running, and closes when motor runs. In order to check with an ohm meter, remove the two large wires on motor switch and make them electrically safe. Tape them. Plug the dryer in and start motor. Check continuity across the terminals on the motor switch you removed the heavy wires from. If it is ok you should read continuity. Remember that the smaller wires in a dryer carry the 120V and the large wires carry 240V. There is no voltage on these two terminals with wires removed. It is ok to test with ohm meter.
7. Heat elements-Test heater element with an ohm meter. You will read continuity across a good element ( 8-12 ohms is an average element ).
But darn it, I don't have a Ohm Meter....
To check the thermal fuse - You can bypass the thermal fuse (just connect the 2 wires together) for testing purposes only. To check the thermal cut-out - You can bypass the thermal cut-out (just connect the 2 wires together) for testing purposes only.
To check the thermostats for continuity - - You can bypass the thermostat (just connect the 2 wires together) for testing purposes only.
To check the Element: Try removing element and physically looking at the element wire for a break in the wire.

Whirlpool YLER7647EQ0 No Heat

It sounds like your whirlpool dryer may have a problem with one of its thermostats. This is a common problem and can be tested for continuity as well. Simply unplug the dryers power. There it a Hi-limit thermostat on the elements housing, it is the LOWER thermostat. disconnect one of the leads to the thermostat and test it. if its not reading anything, then it is faulty. part number for the hi limit thermostat is 3390291. The other thermostat is located on the blower housing it is the air circulation thermostat and can be accessed through the front panel. Again perform the same check with power disconnected and you will most likely have an answer. part number for the cycling thermostat is 3387134. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 80 Series No Heat

The heater gets one leg of power through the timer and one leg through the motor terminal.Make sure power is leaving the timer and terminating at the heater. Check the switch on the motor for continuity for the other leg of power.(The motor must be running to check this switch).

My Whirlpool dryer will not heat up I replaced the thermostat and the element is good. So what can be the problem?

Did you check the thermal fuse? The dryer must have 240V for the heating element to work. Just because the dryer will run doesn't mean that the fuse is not bad. It is located on or near the exhaust duct just inside the back of the dryer. It is about one inch long. Check it with an ohm meter for continuity. If there is no continuity, then replace the thermal fuse. When you say that you replaced the thermostat, are you referring to the high limit thermostat? Hope this helps and best wishes.

Whirlpool duet dryer not heating

Hi, Make sure you have 240V to the dryer. Remove the lower half on the front panel and you will find the heat element under the drum right side.
Start the dryer and test the element to see if there is 240V to it. If there is voltage, change the element.
If there is no voltage, UNPLUG the dryer and test the thermostats and the fuse for continuity. If any of these do not have continuity, change it.

No heat we plugged in dryer and it works but it gives no heat

Check for 240V at the outlet. If you have 240V, check the continuity of the thermostats on the element housing, and the element itself. If those are ok you could have an issue with the timer.
