sandisk C140...tried what you suggested said tehre is no media present, there was nothing there to delete....just empty lists. is there a way to reset the whole Mp3 player like it comes when you first buy it.

  • Creed78 Feb 21, 2008

ok tried and no luck with the resetting on the MP3 player itself, have already tried the driver download..didn't help either....thanks if you can think of anything else.

We need your model number to be of most assistance, but if the recovery mode failed to wipe everything off, then go intoi Windows Media Player and delete them manually by left clicking on the song title (make sure you delete them from the Songs folder underneath your mp3 player name - not the Songs folder directly underneath "Library") and presssing delete on your keyboard. Once you test on a few individual songs, then you can click several songs, or even "Select All" and delete them in bulk.

    Try this first:

    1. Select Settings menu in Main Menu.

    2. Select Reset All

    3. Select Save to reset to factory settings or select Cancel to stop the

    reset.

This will not delete all songs.

Then, try the Sansa Recovery Tool at:

    http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDown...

If the recovery does not delete all songs, then open up "My Computer" and double click on the icon of your Sansa player (or whatever drive the computer is calling the sansa player). Go into the folder for songs, and delete the songs from Windows.

How do I clear the memory completely? Deleting isn't working.

Right click the disk in 'my computer' and select 'format' you'll get a warning about "formatting removes all the data".

Make sure that you select your MP3 player otherwise you'll wipe your computers HDD and that wouldn't be good.

My gigabeat (portable media center) device has wiped everything on it, what can i do to recover all my photos?

Connect your MP3 Player into computer.Download a data recovery software to recover your photos. For data recovery program,I have used Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your media player to look for lost data you accidentally deleted or formatted. By the way,you can download it and scan your MP3 player for free to preview whether your photos can be recovered.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm

I accidentally deleted the PICTURES file on my Sony nwze340 mp3 player!

There is a way to you may get back those deleted picture files from your MP3 MP, BUT it is just possible. Because if those deleted files has been overwritten by new files you saved in, then there is no hope. However usually overwritten cases are hard to happen as long as your MP3 has enough volume.

Then, take so called data recovery program to handle the issue and see if you can grab some or all of the deleted files back. Have a try of Wondershare Photo Recovery. with both Windows and Mac versions provided.

If you are running Windows, go to video photo recovery program.
If you are using Mac OS X, turn to Mac photo video recover software.

You should take care - before your files are recovered, do not save more files to your MP3 in case overwritten situation will happen.

Deleted photos from memory card

When you format any storage device- be it on your computer, cell phone, mp3 player, etc. it really means it will be restored to its original state before you put anything on it. Sadly, once you click on the format command, you have wiped everything off your memory card and there is no way to retreive your photos and videos. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
