WE HAVE HAD A RATIONAL COMBI OVEN FOR MANY YEARS. TO DAY WE WERE BAKING LOTS KK FF AND THE HEATING ELEMENT WHICH IS ROUND AND ON THE INTERIOR SIDE GOT VERY HOT AND GLOWED VERY RED WE HAVE NOT EVER NOTICED THE RED BEFORE. DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM OR IS THIS NORMAL? NEED YOUR HELP THANKS ,REGENA
Your oven is electric yeah? the hot air element shouldnt be glowing like that, it glows with the door open? the oven has a over temp stat so if the oven got too hot then it would trip out, if it does then the solid state relays will have to be changed, but if it carries on as normal then shouldnt worry

Have the solid state relays tested ,these are more than likely short circuit, which will allow the oven to overheat & will eventually trip the safety temperature limiter. This will lead to the oven having no function with voltage present at the unit. Quite a common fault & easily fixed.

Normal, has to get very hot to ignite gas and it stays red while over is calling for heat
