It sounds like like the ect sensor(eng.coolent temp)
not sending a signal to to the pcm that the engine is
warm. And the engine will stay in cold start mode.
Check the connections at the ect sensor, it's on top
of the engine on the intake manifold. Also have an obdII scan done to see if that sensor or any others
shows a code. You can stop by any autozone/napa
or advance auto parts they will scan it for free.
Hope this helps.

My pt cruiser has code 1391. i changed cam sensor crank sensor wires plugs and coil still getting 1391 code and from 0 mph to 20 mph car skips and revs up any ideas?

The cam and crank sensors have the same power wire. Go after that one. They also have the same ground, but other sensors connect to it also. So it's not the ground. And they have separate return signal wires. Not them either.

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus it shuts off while driving. Now it won't start at all. I have all power.

it could be the cam sensor or crank both would bo this, also the dispack . but would say it was the crank sensor usually when they go you cannot start the engine. cam will start but will run ruff, and coil pack if they go after around 20 min it will work for abit then stop.

Ruff ideal ,no power, was told it could be a cam oxygen sensor or cam cylinoid any ideas?

rough idle can be the cam and crank sensor or the timing has shifted from weak timing belt/auto adjuster. also the idle valve on intake is sticking or and fuel pressure valve is not working properly if engine runs fine at speed then the adjuster on timing belt can be the fault, as the pressure on the engine turning the cams is putting the right pressure on the belt. if it is through the hole speed ranged the fuel pressure could be low. if engine goes in to limp mode or takes time to speed up it can be timiming alinment out and or the cam sesor or crank sensor.

check your fuel pressure when it stalls. check your cooling system, it might be going into vapor lock. does it run hot or overheat at all?

When car is warm engine races at idle.

it is possible the engine to have a vacuum leak,**** air,or the temperature sensor not to work properly and give wrong message to PCM as cold start. clean also the throttle body from any dirt.

Just had remanufactured engine installed in my 04 lincoln Aviator - due to a broken timing chain by Pro-Teck auto in lakeville, MN. Egine light went on. Told by Pro tech auto that I needed to replace my #7...

Hey Doug. I would change the cam sensor and see it that takes your light on. The misfire may errase with a new cam sensor. I would hold off on the crank, until I changed the cam sensor. If it still runs rough, then maybe try the crank sensor. It is possible they didn't gap the #8 plug right or it was a bad plug. I would try the cam Doug. I would hold off on the crank.

My 2005 Malibou Maxx ls loses power without warning. Sometimes it happens when it is cold but yesterday I had been drivving for over 1/2 hour before it suddenly stopped. It doesn't happen every time I go...

can be a sign the cam or crank sensor is on its way out, can also be a dirty MAF sensor. cam sensor will make the engine run ruff, MAF will make engine ruff and not idle properly, Crank sensor if it fails it shuts engine down as it dont know were the engine is at on its cycle. air filter changed or replaced damage air filter will coat the maf with muck and it will need cleaning off the sensor, easy to do with MAF cleaner. sensors they can fail when they to hot for them to run anymore or to cold. the resistance in the sensor goes up and down in different temperatures. some time when it goes completely out of range the engine light comes on, but a failing one that is still in range makes the engine run out of order.
