Easier solution. Your record setting are on AVCHD best for playing HD on TV. set your camera to HD JPEG and you can watch it on your PC and save it aswell through software provided. Also if you want to save recording that are already on AVCHD just conect to a DVD recorder and record it to DVD or use free software like Media Classic but I prefer not to add too many media software products as they can cause conflits and more problems

Use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. Open the movies in imovie.

Im having trouble with my Lumix DMC-FT1. The memory card is stuck in the slot. You can pop it half way up using the spring mechanism but it seems like something is grabbing onto it and not allowing it to...

Well, obviously you're going to need to get the card out so pull it out using a pair of needle-nosed pliers. If this causes some sort of problem, the problem was there anyway. When you get it out, don't try to reinsert it....just get a new card.

I have a macbook and it won't recognise the movies, but will recognise and download the still pictures

Did you shoot the movies in AVCHD Lite? Most computers, especially Macs can't use it. However, if you use Toast 10 Titanium, it will burn it to a DVD.
