All of a sudden, my Samsung camcorder (sc-d372) is playing back tapes with 4 pink, equally spaced bars accross the monitor. Has something electronically gone bad or does it need cleaning or something?

I suppose that your camcorder has a dirt on the tape head actually i experienced that aswell and i just buy a new tape to rewind while playing the tape so that the dirt from the tape head will dissappear. by the way im not giving you this advice. i suggest that you buy a tape head cleaner or camcorder tape head cleaner. im just sharing you my experience about my camcorder. if the problem still persist then send it on some samsung customer center or a camcorder technician.
