My oven shows the error code F 70 and it doesn't work (not even the light) Switching power off for ten minutes doesn't help. What does F 70 mean? Do you have any suggestions to solve the problem (besides calling a Gaggenau service ingenieur). Many Thanks
raimidu
I had the same fault F70. Poured several liters boiling water no result. I decided to take the oven out the kitchen and put on the table. Be carefull, its edges are sharp. You need to disconnect water supply, first close the tap, then remove the water pipe from the oven by hand. Remove also the drain pipe from the sewage connection. You cannot detach it from the oven. Unplug power supply. Then start unscrewing the top panel. Once removed you can unscrew also the side panel left side (by looking at the oven from the front door side) and finally remove the back panel. You will need a special screw driver as the screws are star type.
I found out that there was some little water on the bottom panel of the oven. There is a safety sensor which is in contact with the bottom panel on the left side of the oven near the electronic board.
If this get wet, the faul code F70 appears.
Also some water was in the hole of the level sensor in the pump chamber next to the other sensor (white plastic box)
So dry all the water with the help of kitchen paper and finally with hair dryer.
Put back all teh parts and voila', it works again.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I cant physically take out the oven didnt leave enough water pipe to be able to even get the oven out of the housing. However i have discovered that using a star screwdriver, I can remove the door assembly which allow me access to the underneath panel, which i have dried using a kitchen paper and a stick which mopped most of the water out. Im now giving it a blow dry with my hairdryer to dry completely. One important note **** when taking the door off be careful of the electrical connection which plug in, not to damage them. I will let you know if successful
Was totally successful , one other thing is the door mechanism slips down once holding screws are removed. So easier to fix the frame first then the door onto the frame.

MY steam oven error message
F74
Gaggenau. type ED 220110 EHLE D22 MY OVEN SHOWING E 71 ERROR I AM TRYING TO PREPARE. NO POSSIBLE. PLEAS GIVE SUCH GOOD GUIDE TO REPAIR.
[email protected]
Our Gaggenau steamoven showed error code F70. Power off for 10 minutes gave no result. Then poored several liters boiling water into the oven. Also took out oven and tilted several times. After 30 minutes F70 disappeared and ovens works perfect again. Now we flush with boiling water once a week.
I too have same proble - poor reliability on these units. I had to get engineer out to fix float switch that cuts off steam already - half a day to strip and rebuild. Same fault a second time cleared the float switch by pouring in boiling water to oven (the standard oven flushes through with cold water which does not clear even moderate amounts of grease)

Hi,
First change the fuse. Then if it still isn't functioning properly, you may have to replace the lamp, in which case you should contact a specialist. Details can be found in the Instructions Manual.
Go here:
https://portal.bsh-partner.com/portal(bD1kZSZjPTAwOQ==)/PORTALFRAME.HTM
and enter EB270 and click the Go button.
Then download the PDF file of the manual in English (EN)
Hope this helps :)

ps Someone else on Fixya claims to have fixed the F14 problem by changing the PCB Board, whatever that is.. but there was no further rating or feedback given. That's all I have.. Good Luck!

Sometimes the error light will come on because of mixed signals sent. If everything works, then just ignore it. Unplug the oven or turn power off in fuse box. This may reset the light control. Be very careful around the power source. Wear rubber bottom shoes, have dry hands and floor. Don't touch exposed wires with anything. This is 240 volts that can hurt or kill you!!!!!!
Testimonial: "Appreciate the advise, but would still like to know the exact meaning of error code F 20. Thanks."

F23-relay electronics not selecting. There is either a fault with the pcb or a loss of continuity within the ribbon cable. Unfortunately, I think you are going to need an expert to look at this to confirm.
Sorry I cannot be of more assistance but some faults do require a physical check from a professional and cannot always be sorted out from a distance.
All the best.

i have the same problem....what did you do?what i can do?
reliabilty on these ovens seems rubbish - especially at the price point they sell. Had it about 18mths - broke down after 1 year - wouldn't steam. Repair guy stripped the oven to clean float switch which is difficult to access and had become clogged (the rinse function only flushes with cold water) about three months later had the same problem but cleared it by pouring boiling water into oven which seemed to free the float switch. Now at 18 months I too have an F70 error as described by raimidu and looks like I will have to call out the service engineer again. Not happy!
