Hi,

There is a copy option on the playback menu.
This copies to and from the memory.

Hello. Put the memory card into the camera and format it if you want to erase what is already on it and start over. Once you have the memory card in the camera your pictures will automatically be stored on the card. regards, Joe

Took pictures without memory card Nikon D3000 camera, can I retrieve them?

No. Without a memory card the camera stores the last picture taken only so you can view it to verify proper operation. It overwrites the previous picture, and it disappears when you turn the camera off.

You NEED a memory card if you want to save the pictures. Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but that's the way the camera works.

Two options. One, leave the card out of the camera when you connect to the computer, then download the pictures. Two, use the camera's copy function to copy the pictures to the memory card, then download the pictures.

Put the memory stick inside the camera. Then open the photos which is save in your camera memory. Select them all & then you find a option Send to memory card or copy to memory card. Select that and press ok. Your photos transfer from camera memory to memory stick.

Trouble viewing pictures transfered to the memory card

The process only works one way...you can download pictures taken on your camera to your computer but you cannot download pictures from your computer to the card and play them back on your camera.

And now they're not on my memory card

Very possible that it is, but I would guess that the answer is no. It sounds like it might have not transferred all the pictures but thought it did. If you have the option set of "delete after transfer" checked, it would explain this problem.

If you have not taken any pictures since the transfer, you can check the memory card for deleted files. If you have taken new ones since, then there is a possibility you have overwritten the ones you are looking for.

The program I use to undelete files that have been deleted from the recycle bin is free and can be downloaded from the following link.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/Restoration.shtml

But you will need to put your camera memory card into a card reader rather than using your camera to do the transfer. I would also check your C: drive for deleted files.

Another suggestion is to do a search of your entire hard drive for ".jpg" or the file extension your pictures are taken in.

Hope this helps.

Cannot access pics

Once you took pictures without a memory card, all pictures taken will automatically be saved on the INTERNAL MEMORY of the camera.
When taking pictures with a memory card, all pictures are just saved on the memory card itself.
If you are seeing 100-757 on the LCD screen. It means that there are already 757 pictures taken from the first time you've used the camera.
It is possible that some of the pictures are in the internal memory and some are in the memory card.

STEPS to DOUBLE CHECK:
1) Remove memory card out of the camera
- Turn on camera
- View pictures on the internal memory
by just pressing on the PLAY mode button
(lowest of the 3 little buttons)
- Pictures seen are just the ones saved on the internal memory

2) Return memory card back in the camera
- Turn on camera
- View pictures on the internal memory
by just pressing on the PLAY mode button (
lowest of the 3 little buttons)
- Pictures seen are just the ones saved on the memory card itself

*** If you want to transfer pictures on the internal memory of the camera to your MEMORY CARD, you just have to follow the steps below:
- Make sure there is a memory card inside the camera
- Turn on camera
- Press on PLAY mode button to view pictures
- Press MENU/OK button
- Keep scrolling to the right until you see COPY TO CARD
- Select YES using the arrow keys
- Press MENU/OK to confirm
* When you've done these steps, all pictures from the INTERNAL MEMORY of the camera will be copied to your MEMORY CARD but it depends on the space left on your memory card

** If still, you could not view the pictures, it's possible that the pictures are really gone when you have transferred the previous pictures to your computer.

** Once you have transferred pictures to your PC, and you have deleted those on your camera, the FILE NAME of the pictures will not start from 100-001 again unless you have reset the file name on the settings of your camera.

In example, i already have 256 pictures on my camera so the filename reads 100-256 for the last picture taken. And then i decided to transfer those 256 pictures to my PC and i deleted those immediately after being transferred. So, as i took another picture, FILENAME will start with 100-257 if i have not reset
the FILE NAME settings to 100-001.

Hope i've helped you enough.

Transferring from internal memory to memory card

connect camera to computer without disk. Go to "my computer", click on the camera icon, it should say how many pictures you have and ask what you want to do with them.
