Symantec, like some other providers of such services, is quick to charge renewal fees. A quick Google check will find a myriad of complaints like yours. The likely issue is that you either inadvertently, or have forgotten, activating their automated subscription renewal feature. Logging onto their support site here: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/c... will put you in contact with a product support rep who can help you straighten out the problem and possibly get you a refund.

You have probably inadvertently activated Norton's automated subscription renewal feature.

If this wasn't the desired result than contacting them at this URL: http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs&selected_nav=8&id=ctcs1

will put you in touch with a customer service rep who can help you correct the problem and possibly arrange for a refund.

Hi,

This is not the Norton site. You probably signed up for Automatic Renewal unknowingly. You need to contact Customer Support. Here is the web site:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

You can choose chat, phone, or email. I am sure they will correct the problem.

Thanks for using Fixya.

How do I cancel my magazine subscription?

Much of the time your subscription is for a year or two. Close to the time your subscription is up the magazine publisher will send you a renewal form to renew your subscription. To unsubscribe you just throw the renewal form, if you don't want to renew the magazine, after you read it, in the trash. They may say to do nothing if you want to renew; at this time you'll have to say you want to cancel the magazine or it may automatically be renewed. If you want to cancel your magazine subscription mid-year, you'll have to find the publisher's address somewhere in the magazine and write them to say you want to cancel. They may or may not give you back any of your subscription money.

I have an automatic renewal an wish to cancel my subscription for auto reewal. If I have isses I've paid for I want to receive them, or if I owe you for any subscription I want t pay for those

Depending on who you have the renewal with, you can contact them either by email or postal mail. Different companies have different rules on that.
One other thing yo can do is contact the credit card company as soon as you send the cancellation notice and let the credit company know that they are not to pay any additional charges to the cancelled business. That will prevent you from being hit with more charges in the future.

Why is my renewal via my computer not valid-Visa has been charged

Email Norton and tell them your situation, they will tell you what to do to fix the problem seems like a problem that's more there doing than yours.
Or
  1. Start your Norton product.
  2. Do one of the following depending on your Norton product:
    • For Norton 360: Click My Account, and in the My Account window, click Renew Subscription.
    • For Norton 2009 products: At the top right corner of the window, click Help & Support > Subscription Status. Skip to Step 6.
    • For Norton 2008 products: In the bottom-left corner, click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2007 products: On the product tab, click Support, and then click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2006 products: On the Help & Support menu, click Subscription.
  3. Click I have already purchased a subscription, check my subscription status.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Next.
Your Norton product checks your subscription status. This could take a minute or two.
  6. Read the information in the Status check panel, and then click Finish.
Your subscription expiration date should now be correct.
If this helps you out, feel free to leave positive feedback. Thanks for stopping at Fixya !

Message says my subscription has expired? I purchased Internet Security from Nortons on 12/7/07 why has it expired? It appars I am no longer protected and do not understand why this is.

Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.
