Laptop I want to have a background picture on my laptop as i had before but it is not letting me. I go in to control panel n click on change background display Then when it has the option to browse for the pic u want up it doesnt let me have that option

The issue at hand is that my screen saver won't come on. I've talked with technical support, and at least a dozen times I've right clicked on to properties and re set the screen saver. Even using view option does not let it stay on. This may have something to do with my ac adapter because it only happned after I got a DOS message saying my computer does not recognize my ac adapter. The technical support people (3 separate people tried to help) were of no avail except the last person said I should just back up everything and reset the computer like it was new. I did this but then a week later same thing happened. I wonder if the ac adapter is choosy about which wall socket it plugs in? I want my screen saver to work!!! Any ideas?

Try Right click on any picture u want...scroll down...see "set as background" ...now click on that...

Hi,
Another option is to view the picture you want using the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" then right-click on the image and click on "Set as Desktop Background". This should help you have a new background.

Try these solutions:
Right click on any picture that you want as your laptops background.
A window will open and then you will pick "set as laptop/desktop background.
Now that picture will be your background of your laptop.

Another way is to click Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Change desktop/laptop background>...When the window opens you will click on the tab Desktop, from there you can choose the desktop backgrounds available there, or you can click the browse button and find the picture you want as your desktop background.

I have an Acer windows 7 laptop. bt it seems that the wall paper cannot change. i dont know if I cant change it or it cannot be changed. please help. what should I do?

To change the desktop background

Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type desktop background, and then click Change desktop background.
Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.

If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer. When you find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.
Look for pictures in other locations on your computer
Under Picture position, click the arrow and choose whether to crop the picture to fill the screen, fit the picture to the screen, stretch the picture to fit the screen, tile the picture, or center the picture on the screen, and then click Save changes.

Note

If you choose to have a fitted or centered picture as your desktop background, you can also frame your picture with a color background. Under Picture position, click Fit or Center. Click Change background color, click a color, and then click OK.
Tip

To make any picture stored on your computer (or a picture you are currently viewing) your desktop background, right-click the picture, and then click Set as Desktop Background.

How do install a windows desktop background.

I assume you wish to set a picture as your Desktop Background, I hope you know it's called wallpaper. There are few options, but the simplest way is open the picture, right-click and select "Set as Desktop Background", the settings will be updated within few seconds. You'll be able to see the new desktop background. If you are using Windows xp, right click anywhere on the desktop (empty area), select "Properties", click "Desktop" tab, there you'll see the available options to select your picture. Click "Browse", locate your picture which you wish to set as background image and select it. Now, click "Open", and make sure "stretch" is selected in the "Position" box, and then click "Apply", then "Ok".. You can also do the same from the "Control Panel's" Display settings, double-click the "Display" icon to access the settings.
In the same way, in windows vista and windows 7, right-click (blank area) on the desktop, select "Properties" and make the changes from the "Desktop Background" options.

If you are running Windows 7, go to the start menu, control panel, appearance & personalization. Click on desktop background. Click on the background or theme you want (you can hold down control while you click if you want it to rotate between several) and then click save changes.

How do i set a photo as desktop background? cannot find desktop properties...

You can right click on the picture itself and select "set as Desktop background"
Or:
Click on the Start menu button. Then click on Settings and then on Control Panel.
Double-click on the Display icon or text link. This will open a window named Display Properties.
Click on Background if that tab is not selected. Click on one of the items that appear in the box labeled Wallpaper.
Inspect the preview that appears above the Wallpaper menubox. Use the Display menu to the right to experiment with tiling, stretching or centering the picture that you are previewing.
Click on Browse to use an image stored elsewhere on your hard drive. Locate the image and click Open.
Click OK to change your background, or wallpaper. Click Cancel if you decide to maintain your current settings.

ok, listen carefully. i was trying to figure out how to change my background, cuz i have the acer aspire with windows 7 starter, and with starter, you just not allowed 2 change your background, but if you upgrade to anything higher than starter you can change your background. so theres a way to get free windows home primium. whatyou do is go 2 control panel, then go click on "windows anytime upgrade" then click on enter upgrade key. then ente this code below. just copy and paste it.

after that it will upgrade you from windows 7 starter, to windows home premium. for FREE!!! it will probably take about 10 or 15 mins for it 2 fully upgrade. your laptop will restart like twice. then log on your laptop, and some stuff will pop up, telling you about home premium, just ignore it. then, after that all you gotta do 2 change your background is click on a picture and hit set as background. oh yeah, the first time i set a pic for my background it sorta put it way at the top, if it does that 2 u, just go 2 ur pictures folder n "my computer" and right-click on the picture you want to set your background as, and click "edit" it will then take you to the paint mode, after that click on like the little arrow in the top left corner, then go down to set as background, click the little arrow next to it, and then click the last option in the drop box, it says "center" then.....there you go! you go a like $150 kit.
