Toshiba satellite touchpad

All of a sudden while using the touchpad, if I tap on the touchpad, whatever I am doing either minimizes or goes to smaller size. Not every time, only about 1 out of 8 taps this happens. Also when the curser is in the lower right side of the screen, it now changes to a scroll type mode. I have had the computer a few years and suddenly this started happening about 5 days ago. I checked for new drivers and updated if it said to, also resent my computer to 15 days ago in case something got downloaded or something. Any solution on how to set this back to where it was?? Any help is appreciated.

when i tap screen minimzes

YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM MAY HAVE BEEN RELOADED WITHOUT PUTTING THE MANUFACTORS TOUCH PAD DRIVER BACK.WINDOWS WILL LOAD AN AUTOMATIC GENERIC DRIVER WHICH WILL LEAVE THE TOUCHPAD SENSITIVE TO CAPACITENCE FROM YOUR HAND. ALSO YOU CAN DOWN LOAD THE TOUCHPAD UTILITY FROM TOSHIBA TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY.

Touchpad

my laptop uses a Synaptics touchpad. In Control Panel, go to Printers and other hardware, then select mouse. Your touchpad device should be listed in one of the tabs at the top. For bigearlb: click settings, then my menu items list Tapping as one of the settings, and when I open it and on the right side is a check box next to Enable Tapping. Uncheck it and you should be good. For tmbc: Under device settings for your touchpad, click on Disable. that should do it.

Touchpad minimizes screen

Double check your settings for the touch pad. It could be set to do that under one of the settings. Or something internally could have gotten jogged or internally moved. If that is the case there isn't much you could do unless you got someone to look inside of it for you.

READ THIS POST NOT THE OTHERS. you can configure each of the four corners of the TouchPad surface to act as different buttons when tapped. These corner regions are called Tap Zones. to disable this feature goto control panel, mouse, device settings, settings, tapping, tap zones, disable tap zones.

Ok so here goes.... I had the same problem:

Go to the 'start' button and then hit the 'control panel' option, then click 'mouse' then go to 'Device Settings' and then to the 'settings'. When you get to this screen it shows a list on lthe left hand side choose the 'tapping' option and then ok.

Hope it works for you...it did for me.

Screen minimizes when using the touch pad

If you touch the top right corner of the touchpad, it restores down the window you are currently in. The bottom right corner of the touchpad minimizes the window you are currently in. The bottom left corner of the touch pad brings up the start menu.
