I have no problems transferring video to pc from DV camera using Sonic MyDVD software loaded. When I go to burn to DVD+R disc the software cancels. I have searched for ways to check compatibility or configuration issues, but have been unsuccessful. Please help.
I have tried two or three products since the PC was built in '04. I have always just moved on, but would like to get fixed once and for all.
Is there a way to check the configuration, or software compatibility with the hardware (both of which were installed when the machine was built)?I have tried two or three products since the PC was built in '04. I have always just moved on, but would like to get fixed once and for all.

have you tried using another software? software that stops or cancels within you trying to use it only indicates that there might be conflicts with other softwares installed on your computer.
i suggest you try installing another dvd burning software.

You need to have DVD burning software. There are many out there, each with their own pros and cons. I use MyDVD 10 Premier from Sonic. It's and easy program that lets you create movies with all the bells & whistles then burn your movie easily to DVD. No matter what software you choose, you need good DVD burning software to get what you want. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need anymore help. Feel free to rate my answer if your satisfied and thanks for coming to FixYa.

Your going to need 2 things.
1) A DVD player on your pc.
2) Good DVD burning software.
And your DVD is going to have to be finalized in the camcorder before you can play it in a DVD player or a computer.
I use MYDVD from Roxio. But there are a few out there, and it just depends on the individual user as to which one you prefer.
With MYDVD, it's pretty easy, you just start the program, and follow your prompts.
well, sonic dvd creates temporary files. I noticed it doesnt delete those files. they are somewhere in documents & Settings\(user)\
i can't seem to recall the exact place but its either under Application data or Local Settings\
you can check the disk size for these two folders and or the size for sonic folder in these two. would take few clicks and im sure you will reach there.
sorry for the partial answer as its been over 2 years when I had to find the missing disk space =)
You need to download the movie to a computer and store it in a video file. Then you should be able to use a software program to burn it to a DVD. I use a TIVO for watching and burning my videos. You don't need a computer. You save the video by recording it to the TIVO's hard drive then after it is on the drive you DUB it to an empty DVD-R disc.
I think the problem, if its a video dvd you are burning is the read in read out that it cannot finish, so thats either a corrupt video file that cannot be read, as burning is the last thing a writer does after caching the image or you need to try a different brand of dvd.
A tip is also try to burn at a slower speed as sometimes a faster speed results in more dvd glass coasters.
