Is there a way you can power it on, by pressing hard on the button? The get a new Universal remote and program the TV.

Otherwise, it might be time to get a new TV.

My GPX DV1020 remote will not turn on the dvd player. Can you help?

be sure your remote is ok. check the remote as follow:
-use a pocket radio that is set/tuned on AM-frequentie band.
-hold the remote near the receiver of the radio while pressing every botton one by one
-you should hear a high pitch sound if the remote is ok
-when all botton do the high pitch that means the dvd IR-receiver is bad. usually it can't be, those are tough....

if you dont got the pitch the remote is bad. test especially the power botton of the remote.

If it is the remote please write back. I will show you how to do some simple actions to get the remote back going..

I got an older rca 36" t.v and the remote broke. how can i switch from vcr to dvd without the remote

Most TVs have a manual button on the TV itself which allows you to switch inputs, you just have to find the sequence. You can replace your remote by buying a universal remote (Wal-Mart $10) and coding into the remote, your TV brand and model using a supplied chart that comes with the remote.

Door opener remotes not opening garage door.

You have to sync the remotes to the new code. For older remotes, you can open the remote and match the pin settings.

For newer remotes there's a button that you push in the back of the opener that sets in program mode (for Chamberlain). When you push the remote button, it will acknowledge the remote is programmed.

If this doesn't help, comment back on your particular model and we'll help you with the solution.
