Power light comes on but nothing else works.

My power adaptor got lost from one gig to the next. Rather than spending lots of money to replace it, I did my reserch to find that the required specs were (15V dc , 500ma). Why would an adaptor of the exact same specs only allow the power light to come on but nothing else? Is it even worth buying a new adaptor, or does this mean something is wrong now???

There is a possibility that your plug on the adapter is the wrong polarity. See if the polarity is marked on your mixer by the power adapter jack.

I will try and research your mixer and post further on here.

I was just looking at the specs for the mixer and it says the mixer uses a !4 volt A.C. adapter 1500ma not D.C. Am I understanding you correctly? Please get back to me. Also let me know what part of the world you are in in case I can recommend a source for you. Thanks.

Amp turns on but puts out no sound except for faint noise which dies out after a few seconds.

It sounds like a defective/incorrect AC-to-DC adapter may have caused your problem. These adapter come with different output voltages, AC or DC output and different amperage ratings. AC-to-DC adapters list the polarity of the DC voltage as it relates to the DC power plug and you must match both the devices voltage and power requirements. As for the amp...not working on batteries either, I would suspect output transistors or IC.

Lost sound wen moving pv 1500's

PV series power amplifiers common issue, i suggest that before you go to spend tons of hard-earned money to a tech shop go to radio shack, buy a cleaner spray solution and clean ALL the back switches, including Stereo/Bridge switch, then check the two green light light up at front and verify functionality as well, let me know your results.

My P85 simply won't turn on. I have tried two different adaptors. Neither work yet they are functioning with other keys. Please help. I have a gig on Sunday

What adapters have you tried? The P85 REQUIRES a 12 VAC adapter, NOT the common DC type and it needs a 1.5 amp (1500 ma) type adapter. If you connected a DC adapter it will NOT do damage, the unit just won't work. You can find adpaters on Ebay or Google search.

My adaptor use to work fine now it wont work I found out it was the piece on the back where the adaptor plugs into, If I jiggle it and move it sometimes the power light will come on but it works fine with...

You can get that fixed if you can find someone who can solder. The jacks wear out over time on a lot of things. The jacks themselves are worth about $1 but it is the labour to open the case and solder a new one in.

The contacts in the jacks are spring loaded so these can wear or get damaged etc. So eventually they won;t make good contact and you get your problem. You see this a lot on laptops. You can twist or apply pressure on the plug until you get it to power up. This is more luck than anything when it works and eventually it will get to a point where it won;t connect anymore. This really is a simple repair but finding someone to solder the new jack in is the problem.

A friend just gave me a newer Fender Passport PD-500. He used it about 6 times. One night at a gig he said the unit just stopped working. The green power light just flashes when plugged in and nothing else...

The green blinking light indicates a failure in the switching supply. Try Diodes D15 and D22 which may have overheated and are shorted or open. The Mouser part # for these diodes are 750-SB2100E-G for reference if needed. You will need to disassemble the unit to get to these parts and locate the parts by number. They have hot glue on them which you can leave off if you need to replace them.

I have a PMP5000, used 5 times now. Last gig I

Cease using it immediately and get it serviced. There are failure modes of this that can do serious damage that requires a lot of work to repair.

If the temp sensors shut it down, it will restore if cooled off... If that doesn't happen service is required.

If just one side of the speakers went out I know exactly what has happened as I have repaired three of these all with same problem. If both sides are down and the rest seems to work, that is an uncommon failure

The cooling fan is throttled as needed and runs only when heat sinks get to a certain temp.

Power light flashing but getting nothing through the tower

If the fuse went, there probably is a failure. To avoid further damage, if you replace the fuse, put a 150 Watt lamp in series with the hot power wire. Make an adapter to do this safely.

The lamp will light instead of the fuse blowing and hitting the amp with a high current surge that could do more damage. If the lamp goes out, it is probably safe to operate.

I would recommend carrying a spare amp with you... These Passport systems are HARD to work on due to the way they are assembled.

I have a variax 700 modelling acoustic guitar, On occations it just dies ie,no power or sound. I disconnect everything plug it all back up and still nothing. If I leave disconected for an hour or so...

I don't have a Variax but it sounds like an IC (integrated circuit) inside the guitar is getting hot and until it cools down, it does not function properly. Try the Line 6 website to find the nearest repair center. Good Luck!
