We have a maxnavox 37 in flat screen HDTV. When the problem first started we would try to turn our TV on and the power button light would blink and the screen would flicker. It would take about 20 minutes for the TV to finally come on. There was no sound during this time. Now, the green power light button will blink all night long and the TV won't come on at all, screen doesn't flicker, etc.

The set has a problem that is likely power related===consider having a shop or a tech look at it---cannot wish it away, someone will have to open and check things to even have a chance to fix this.

Behind your TV, there should be a system reset button.
If this doesn't fix the problem, most of the time this means a part has failed inside the TV. I would use the warranty and take it back and exchange it. You shouldn't be having this problem right out of the box.
I would have them check the new one so you don't have to waste a trip.

If the blinking light seems to be blinking in a pattern, then it is an error code. The end result in any case, is the main power supply is not functioning properly, or the backlight power supply has a problem.
