No power to presario1200 laptop

I dont really say if your mboard will get a damaged..try to change your power plug..if it still not working, you have to open your laptop, so you can find or know if there's some thing wrong...maybe you should have to buy a new one instead of replacing it..coz, if some parts of the motherboard also have damaged, its very hard to fix.. the parts are very small and delicate to fix it..thanks..

The female plug in my Compaq Presario (for AC adapter) is broken from the motherboard. Computer still runs, since the battery is about 90% charged. Cab this battery (it has 5 female terminals) be...
i cannot think of a commercial product designed for this. I believe that you either may need to send it in for repairs, or if the pin inside the female end is bent, try bending it back. BE CAREFUL.

Compaq presario c700 laptop- unable to turn on laptop
U may have a dead board. They average $285 plus labor. A shop should be able to test it on a volt meter see if the power grid is burnt for around $35. then u will know what ur in for. If its a bad board just replace the laptop I wouldnt repair that problem on an older laptop.

Compaq presario 1200 its a laptop and modem is inbuilt. If your laptop is in warranty then get in touch with Compaq. Do not try to change modem as warranty will get void. So donot try this at home.

Compaq Presario fan is not functioning. It is - fan is plugged into the motherboard but the fan will not run - causing my laptop to overheat - I cannot find a fan controlling software that is compatible...
sounds like a burnt up fan so you might just want to take it to your local computer tech have them replace the fan and put some new cpu compound in their and it will never over heat again

Sounds like the power converter that is probably on the motherboard, so you may be looking at a new motherboard. Hard to tell without seeing it in person, but you can take it some place locally and they can troubleshoot power issues for you. GL!

Laptop won't turn on, battery won't charge
I had a similar issue with the Armada M700 from Compaq. Never did figure it out exactly. But I do know this. When you unplug the power chord and take out the battery and plug the power chord back in while the battery is out usually for some reason it turned on allowing me to replace the battery which would then begin charging. Your problem interests me because I can really relate!

you can follow this

If you have a loose connection where you plug in the power on your laptop, or it works intermittently, you could have a bad dc jack. Symptoms
  • Move the power plug and the laptop loses connection
  • Broken or cracked dc jack
  • Laptop won't charge but worked on battery
  • Power LED and battery LED flicker when the adapter tip is moved
  • Battery won't charge
  • Sparks come out the back of the laptop
Why does this happen?
  • Flaw in manufacturer designs
  • Use of universal or non-original ac adapter
  • Lots of plugging and unplugging of the ac adapter
  • Tripping on or pulling the ac adapter cord
or you can check your dc amper in your adaptor

No mother board cd
The Compaq Site now has a huge range of all drivers for all there made laptops.

then type in ur model and it will search for drivers
