Why is my printer telling me that it does not reconize the printer cartage

Printer keeps asking to hit enter to align print cartages. When I hit enter it cant finish the alignment and tells me it failed but not what is wrong or what to fix. Me Too!!! what is the answer

i think it is cartage fault. drum of cartage do this many time. while we reffil dust of cartage we face same problem. once atime check changining another old cartage. u came to know problem.(nepal)

i think your cartidge has an damage you need to change it

i think it is very easy to riffal than other printer cartage.. take out cartage from printer. side of th printer we can get one onepice of plastic as apush butten . when we push this button . we can get two part of cartiage. then we can easly see white cap of cartage.. first openinig cap we throuww old dust .then clean cartage by bloing air by air blower. thanks

my catridge not detect

if their cartridge worked and yours did not. buy a new cartridge.

Black electrical tape is the answer and it’s because the tape is BLACK. Even if u put black tape on an empty cartage the printer will still try to print.

The tape goes on the side of the cartage that faces the back of the printer (where the sensor must be).

If your printer cartages are full filled and will not able to print. Please follow the following steps-

1- Uninstall the printer driver and disconnect printer from PC.
2- Download the latest Epson Stylus CX5500 Driver 6.5b Windows 2000/XP  from given web link

3- Install the printer driver from downloaded file and connect printer as setup ask.

4- Now remove the cartages from printer and clean the connecting points & inkjet point by soft cloath.

5- While cleaning the cartage's injet points you will must see the ink on cloath. If ink does not see on cloath may be your cartages are dry. try to clean them by little force.

6- connect the cartages to printer. tyr to print.

What was telling you it was the sensor, did the printer give you an error message. Is this a standalone unit or hooked to a pc?

see dhanraj your problem just simple what u do is just remove the usb sable from the printer and switch on the printer and when the printer head move open the top cover and just quickly switch off the printer from main power supply . the head will be in the middle now gently remove the catridge. let me know are you able to fix this bye
