Hello. The existing drain hose is a friction fit held in place with a wire clamp. Use a pair of channel locks or pliers to slide the wire clamp about 6 inches up the hose and then work it off of the fitting it is attached to. If it has been there for a long time you will find it useful to warm up the drain hose with a hair blow dryer. Regards, Joe

What does it mean when a washer leaks from the bottom?
The pump will have an outlet or drain hose, an inlet from the tub and may have a circulating hose outlet as well. If you have water leaking from the washer during a wash or drain cycle, check the area of the drain pump. Look for signs of a loose hose clamp or a leaking hose connected to the pump first. Amana washer machine will not hold water. The drain hose is fine. What esle could be wrong?

The drain hose could be stuck too far down the drain pipe allowing it to siphon the water out. Also if it seals too tight into the drain pipe it will siphon the water out.

Water Drains out as fast as it is filling

You have too much of the drain hose inside the drain line causing the water to siphen out as its coming in. Pull some of the drain hose out and secure the hose. There should only be about 8 inches or so of the hose inside the pipe.

Replacing drainage hose

You need to remove the two screws that hold the front panel in place. Remove the hose from the drain pump and pull it out through the back of the machine. You will need to release the clip that holds the hose in place where it exits the back of the washer. Important. When installing the new hose, ensure that you put it back in the clamps inside the machine or it will get caught in the pulley.
