For RMTH2, make sure you have the 1.1 patch and try again. If it is still failing, copy Rmth2.exe directly from the install CD into the folder that has the same filename and overwrite the installed one.
For your RMTH3 issue, it is usually caused by older software not being able to find the temp directory. Try copying the setup files to somewhere like c:\temp and install from there or set your temp variable to c:\windows\temp instead of your profile temp folder.
It's a CD error. Try cleaning the CD with some alcohol and the drive with a laser head cleaning cd. If it still fails to work you could try copying the files on the disc to a folder on your PC or burning it to an iso file and mounting it iwth Daemon Tools. That may help overcome the install error but it's not a certainty.
Is the disc clean???
Make sure there is nothing on it. You can wash it in hot water and any liquid soap.
Only wash the disc in **ONE** direction and never in circles. Just straight across._______________
Rinse and dry same way.
