If the front panel display on your Technics SA-AX6 is not turning on even though you have replaced the display board and verified that the ribbon cable is not broken, there may be an issue with the power supply or the main control board. Have you checked the internal fuse? If that has blown suspect an overload in the power amp stage, mostly caused by short circuit transistors or other devices.

1 You may have a failing power supply regulating circuit in you amplifier and the fail safe circuit is trying to protect the rest of the circuit. 2. there may be a voltage overload at the primary side of the power supply circuit which in this case is causing it to shut down.
