To activate it you should install the fax program. this will require that you register your fax adress.
this is a requirement of utilizing the system of sending and recieving Fax.
Just fill in the information as requested, and it will register your Fax adress.
As soon as you hav ecompleted this, you will be able to send and recieve fax,
and no more error messages, unless ther is a technical problem.

No. Most of the time this "phone line error" can be caused by the telephone connection or issue on the phone line where the fax machine is connected.
Hope this will help.

The fax appears to dial the number successfully. The receiving fax is turned on. It apprears to try for a long time. The error report says "no answer."

It is not your fax line is the other party.did you try any other number?

    • If the report passes, try to resend the fax.
    • If the report fails with the message 'Fail - the phone line is not active,' plug the cable into a working telephone jack, and then try to resend the fax.
    • If the report fails with the message 'Fail - the cord is in the wrong port,' continue to 'Step two: Change the cable to the correct port.'
Step two: Change the cable to the correct port Make sure the telephone cable is inserted in the correct port. Remove the cord for the fax line from the port labeled with a telephone, and then insert it into the correct port. Solution: Check paper size This product only supports paper less than 381 mm (15 in). Use only letter, A4, or legal sized paper for sending faxes. Hi, you can check that your phone connection from your 7420 to line works. Listen for a dial tone in a phone connected to your mfc7420. If not, your tel comm module could be at fault.

Hi, Remote Fax Error being displayed

What happens if you dial the remote fax number as a voice call on another phone? Does that number pick up? Does it give you the modem handshake noise? If not, the remote side has a problem.
Can you fax other numbers? What happens when you dial your own fax line from another phone? If your fax does not pick up and talk to you, your fax may have a problem.

Paper jam, error message, fax send comes out not ledgable.

Code 43 is a line error according to Panasonic.

I had this issue trying to send to a client yet I could send faxes to other #'s. So in my case it was a dead fax on the other end of the line.

Try to send the fax at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.
Or try to disable the ECM on yuor printer, to do that to these steps:

Press SETUP
Press DOWN until you ADVANCE FAX SETUP displays
Press OK
Press DOWN until ERROR CORRECTION MODE displays
Press OK
Press RIGHT ARROW to turn it off
Press OK

Then try to send new fax. If this does not resolved your issue pls try to go to your phone provider. Thanks
