I have used this projector only a few times and I now have the same problem. No mishandling, new lamp, etc. And it starts up again relatively soon, so I don't think the issue is overheating. Any other solutions? And how *do* I take it apart to see what's going on inside?I have used this projector only a few times and I now have the same problem. buy a new carburator on ebay for 20.00,the diaghram and all the rubber hoses are shot, that is what ethanol does, eiher try a rebuild kit or wait 2 days for a new one
As you have done most things, i would suggest you have a massive air leak, either through the cylinder or crankcase gasket, or through the crank seal, i think its time to pull the whole engine down and replace these items.
It's one of two things. My first thought is that you have a clogged gas cap. Try loosening it when the mower starts to run ruff. If it smooths out again and runs fine, then you know that the carburetor is not venting properly. Either buy a new gas cap or clear the breathing holes in the cap, if possible.
The only other thing it can be is that your Ignition Coil is going bad. A bad Coil, once it gets hot, will shut down. But it usually takes longer than 5 minutes for them to cool down well enough to start back up.
Hi, Did you buy it new? How many hours does it have on it. I have a Sharp projector for which I bought a used bulb which started for 1 - 2 mins then shut off. Restarted a minute later then shut off again. I bought a new bulb and that solved the problem. It could also be a weak ballast if the bulb has low hours or if the filters are dirty, it could overheat and shut off. Make sure the filters are clean and the cooling fans are running and the unit has good ventilation.
Pretty sure it the bulb as most are rated at 2000 hours; but also check for full air flow - clean filters etc. Bulbs can run hotter as they age, so air flow is more important, because there is an inside heat sensor that will shut the machine down.
Check for good air flow: that filters are clean and the fans are running and not blocked. Check the bulb hours - it may be nearing the end of its life expectancy. If heat is the problem, the inside temperature sensor will shut down the machine or it may be faulty. Inside electronics would be the next suspect.
It definitely sounds like the fuel line in the tank is sticking up, not laying on the bottom attatched to the filter as it should. See if you can drain the tank and take a look inside at the fuel supply line.
it's not recomended to run constant for a day or longer. it may have overheated the lamp. especially if you've never cleaned it out before. take canned air and blow out any dust. but first remove the lamp and see if there is dust blocking the side vent. if there is a lot, the lamp overheated and prematurely blew.

I also have the exact same problem and Optoma isn't any help at all.
