I find only certain brands of batteries will work, keep trying and maybe when you first turn it on after installing new batteries turn it one clockwise click (not sure what the icon is that it will point to) and see if that clears it up.

Even with new batteries can not power unit up and the lens is open

I have the same problem took a picture then camera went off with lens still open, thought it was the battery so bought a new battery but still will not work, its as though the camera is dead. Is it possible to get it repaired or should I just buy another camera. Does anyone know what type of camera to buy that does the same things as the Kodak Easyshare C643 Digital camera.

I put in brand new batteries and the camera says it needs new batteries

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

Kodak C643..what is wrong?

i bought some nimh rechargeable batteries a couple years ago and they still work to this day. im on my second camera with them and it does that to me when the batteries are dead. try opening the battery door when it does it and then close it and try turning it on again. if it does come on then its the batteries.

Kodak C643 died...

the pics on the memory card should still be fine.
you will have to purchase a memory card reader
they are inexpensive ,for example a usb memory sd reader goes for around 25.00
be sure it can read sd memory
the memory card is ejected next to the batteries.

when you insert them in the reader it will read as another drive and you will see your pics.

Camera won't turn on with new batteries or power cord

I heard from another posting on here and the answer, that someone took fine sandpaper and cleaned off the terminal ends of both battery and camera and blew out the dust particles from that before replacing the battery, then then camera worked. I have yet to try it with my Kodak camera that is 2 years old and suddenly died too! The batteries are fine and work in other cameras.

Nothing works

Remove batteries and clean contacts both inside the battery chamber and on the chamber lid/cover.( use something slightly abrasive ). If this doesnt help replace fire fuse situated on the main pc board ( underneeth rear cover ).
