I have a new Compaq Presario PC with vista windows. I have a X5150 Lexmark all in one printer. I have tried for a week now to connect the two. I can install the printer but when I try to run it, the message says computer not communicating with printer. I 've tried unplugging the usb cable unplugging the power cord.Nothing seems to work. I've downloaded new drivers but I don't know if they got downloaded. I tried using Fixya for my problem last week. It didn't work just lost my money.I'm not very computer smart.Allan
Like ajb309 I have a new computer (Dell Dimension E520) with Windows Vista Home Premium OS. My Lexmark X5150 All-in-One works perfectly with an older Dell Dimension with Windows XP Professional OS. I have installed the unit on the Dell E520 but when I ask it to print a document nothing happens. I contacted Lexmark Support who advised me to download a specific driver. The file they recommend is about 46 Mb which seems huge for a driver file and I have seen elsewhere on the net that another person had tried to use it without successLike ajb309 I have a new computer (Dell Dimension E520) with Windows Vista Home Premium OS. There are no Lexmark X5150 drivers specific for Windows 7, however, the Vista drivers work. To download the driver, click on the links below:
- Lexmark X5150 Driver for Vista 32-bit
- Lexmark X5150 Driver for Vista 64-bit
Check the connection:
While the system is on, remove the connecting cable and reconnect to make sure that the device is being sensed.
Let me know if this isolates the problem to the connection, otherwise we can try something else.
here is what I would do if I were you.... go to start, then control panel, then click on printers... find the lexmark printer, right click, delete... hit yes to confirm.. restart the computer... then go to www.lexmark.com then click the tab that has to do with driver downloads.. then click "drivers"... then type x5150 in the model .. then select the appropriate version of windows that you have, and run the file.. that's what i had to do to fix mine....... :)
