You need a monitor cable that allows to you connect via component or HDMI/DVI

Those samsungs usually come with HDMI and you can buy a dongle for about 20-30 bucks that has the monitor plug for your mac on one end, and an HDMI out on the other. Usually it's only video though and not sound.

Mac book pro. Black screen cannot start but with boot sound

Have you tried connecting an external monitor.

A boot chime means the Mac has passed POST, that the screen remains black initially suggests there is a problem getting image to screen which could mean a bad cable to the LCD or the LCD display its self is having problems.

By connecting to an external display you verify the graphics on the logic board is functional, and it could get you up and running till the display problem is fixed.

Also try powering up and when you hear the chime, hold down the COMMAND+OPTION+P+R keys, and keep holding them till the machine has chimed 3 times, this will reset the 'BIOS' in case there is a glitch there stopping the display from showing up.

I just bought a used Samsung SyncMaster 2243BWX LCD and plugged it into my Mac Book Pro (an older model) with OSX 10.4 The screen shows a display but it is shifted from the one on my computer with the...

There will be buttons on the front of the monitor where you can change the position of the screen, you could also do this in the display driver on your macbook although I couldnt tell you exactly how on that particular mac, pretty sure the menu onthe monitor will get it sorted though.

How do i hook my samsung spl300 projector to my mac book pro

You can connect your Projector with the Mac Book Pro; However the problem is, mac comes with a DVI connector and your projector uses a VGA one.
You need to buy a DVI to VGA adapter from Apple if you don't have one already. You can buy it from the local apple stores or an online apple store.
There are two types of DVI-VGA adapters available (Please check the below images and see which one fits your Mac and go for it). Apple DVI to VGA Display Adapter
Apple Mini DVI to VGA Adapter Once you decided which one you need, go to an apple store or online apple shop and buy one.
Hope This helps.best regardsNextDoorNerd

I am trying to usa a VGA cable to watch my mac book pro on my 42" Insignia 1080P hdtv. when I do I just keep getting the message not supported on teh TV... I have changed my screen ratio on my mac book pro...

Use a 60Hz refresh rate and a basic resolution (Like 1024x768), is it works, set the resolution to the native of the display (Maybe 1920x1080 @ 60Hz).
DON'T set a refresh rate higher than 60Hz for any LCD.
