L2TP connection problem

Hello!

My DI-524 router refuse to connect to the cable modem Thomson TCM425, through L2TP connection. Now I'm accessing internet by an directly L2TP connection between my laptop and modem. I can also connect to the wireless (router), but only to access the settings. I made in the router all the necessary settings for L2TP and some days ago I could connect to internet through it with no problem, till I made the connections for forwarding ports for some programs (19917,49876,45634,59375,33730). Now when I try to connect to internet through the router, is taking the IP from modem, trying to connect, but failed to connect.
Please give me an advice in this problem.
Thank you!

Hello, I've had the electric cut off and immediately back on and I lost my connection from Wireless router to modem. I could not connect in the same way. I could access the router settings with wireless laptop and PC but not to internet on either. I bypassed the router and connected the PC computer to modem then to internet verifying with a browser. I then reconnected the computer cable back to router and router to modem. It stayed connected. But I'm not sure if you have a PC connected to the router also. Sometimes just unplugging some cables and replugging will solve problems. Hope this helps.

The D-Link 524 is not transmitting wirelessly or via cable

This might be a bit dumb solution but try pull out the power adapter and plug it back in again. Have worked for me 3 times when I've had similar problems.

Dns problems

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work ?
If not then call ISP and make sure that your main computer will be able to go online when it is connected to the modem only ( without the router).
If that is working then you can reset the routerand reconfigure the router manually.

I Have a D-link DI-524 wireless router and verizon Broadband modem w/USB conection the G router only has ethernet connections .How can I make this Combo work?

If your Broadband modem is only with w/USB connection you have to change modem/router, you won't connect it with usb to di-524.

Can't get my di-524 router to work

no a straight cable...you are going to need to clone your MAC address on your router so that your ISP can see it.. email me at [email protected]

Connecting Laptop wireless and Desktop wired to the router

Do you need to see the desktop or just share folders from each other? If the latter then you need to do the following:

Use Windows Explorer and select a folder you want to share. Right click and select sharing and security.

On the sharing tab click on Share this folder. Enter a share name ( I like to enter the PC name _folder name; Rick1_Downloads)

Click on Permissions. If your ok with everyone using the PC's and Laptops having access then highlight Everyone and click on Full Control.

Do this on each PC and Laptop.

That should be it or darned near close.

I just purchased a D-Link 2.4GHz Wireless Broadband Router

U need to confirm that your router is connected to cable/DSL modem that has access to internet from ISP.

This is due to DI524 just a wireless router, u need to add in a modem for internet access.

Connect to wireless D-Link and Westell6100

I am assuming that you have a functional LAN cable connecting the Westell and the DI 524, right? If you are unsure, replace it with a cable you know is good.

If the 524 is turned on downstream of the Westell modem, it should find what it wants. You may try rebooting the Westell and seeing if the 524 finds it, and you maybe should reboot the 524.

Sometimes, when the world gets jiggered up I have to work pretty hard to get my DI-524 resync'd to my DSL modem.
