Comments: Feb 01, 2010 - Took off the top of the dryer and i can see the ignitor come on. took off the front of the dryer and i see three sensor that look like they monitior something in order to open the the valve for the gas. what is the best way to check these sensors to make sure they are working correctly. one looks like a photocell that is directly to the side of the ignitor and the other two are directly oppossing each other. not sure if they are some type of heat sensor. the are however wired in series. any ideas?

Check to make sure that the thermal fuse is not blown. Small plastic piece with 2 wires coming off of it. Typically this is problem.

Lg dlg7188rm - My dryer is not getting hot. When I start a cycle the ignitor comes on (orange glow under dryer) and then gas comes on (blue glow). After about 30 seconds both shut off.

There are two or three sensors in the heat exchanger and another one or two in the fan housing. Check them all for continuity. One in the heat exchanger is resettable

I have an LG dryer Model # ddle7177rm/dlg7188rm.when we start the dryer it starts to heat then stops and it blows cool air. the ducts are all clean.

Hello

As everything in your dryer is working fine apart from it heating properly so the recommended repair will be thermal fuse/thermostat replacement. However, you can also test its continuity before replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Sounds like you need an ignitor part number 5318EL3001A but you will need a gas technician to work on this legally. Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.
