My lg dlg7188rm gas dryer will not heat. the gas does not come on at all. and yet the gas is turned on. was working last night just all the sudden stopped. Help
Sounds like you need an ignitor part number 5318EL3001A but you will need a gas technician to work on this legally. Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.
Testimonial: "great explanation. thanks,"
The ignitor might come on which is normal but if it doesn't get hot enough it won't let the gas valve open. The one that looks like a photocell directly on the side of the ignitor is called the flame rectifier which will turn off the ignitor when sufficient heat is provided. Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears as this product requires a gas technician legally as if you do something wrong your insurance companyn would not cover you.

Check to make sure that the thermal fuse is not blown. Small plastic piece with 2 wires coming off of it. Typically this is problem.

Took off the top of the dryer and i can see the ignitor come on. took off the front of the dryer and i see three sensor that look like they monitior something in order to open the the valve for the gas. what is the best way to check these sensors to make sure they are working correctly. one looks like a photocell that is directly to the side of the ignitor and the other two are directly oppossing each other. not sure if they are some type of heat sensor. the are however wired in series. any ideas?
