If the printer has wireless capability built in , no cables are necessary. Install the printer driver in the mac as a wireless connection. Connecting a printer to the router is pointless, unless you want to install the printer as a network printer, which would disable wireless.

The Canon Pixma MP240 canot be connected to a router wirelessly. You could buy a USB printer hub which would allow you to connect your printer to a wireless router. Basically, the printer would connect to the hub over USB, the hub would connect to your router over the netowrk cable, and this would allow you to connect to the printer wirelessly.

I couldn't find any mac drivers for this printer, i'm very sorry that I couldn't help you, but I searched 10 minutes and couldn't find anything

Have you tried a "wired" connection to a different computer?
If the problem persists, then the printer itself is the problem.

Have you tried a "wireless" connection from a different computer?
This presumes that the wireless-configuration on the printer is correct,
and that the printer is "talking" to your wireless router.

Login to the router's web-interface, and check the status of all "wireless" connections,
to ensure that the printer has a valid wireless connection to the router.

I looked at the specs of you printer and it does not support ethernet/ wireless connectivity your best bet would be to connect your printer to your router with usb cable that's if your router supports it else you can buy what they call a wireless print server and connect wirelesly to your router or pc

Any 'big box' electronics store sells them.......The cartridge is Canon "X25"
