I have a frigidaire side by side #frs6lf7jm3. Bought new 4 months ago. I've had frost build-up between the ice-maker and the freezer door ice dispenser slot since day 1. I get frost falling to the floor when I open the freezer door and frost in my glass. When I clean the frost off it only returns.
If it is only 4 months old, contact the manufacturer for warranty. Sounds like the dispenser or door seals have a leak. Do not void your warranty and have yourself or someone else look at it. Get the manufacturer out there ASAP for repair.
I had the same problem. After 6 months I contacted Frigidaire about it. They made arrangements with a local factory service repairman. Be sure you have your model and S/N available. The repairman came to my home, verified the problem and returned a week later and installed the replacement door dispenser. Problem solved.

Is the trap door flap closing properly where the ice comes through the door? If open, warm air would be coming in frosting and maybe iceing things up
SOURCE: Frost on icemaker door
Most likely the ice door is not closing properly.
Clean out the ice chute and look down it from the inside while you shine a flashlite up from the outside. If you see light around the door then it needs to be replaced or something is wrong with the mechanism.
Post back and let me know what you find.

Sounds like the water solinoid valves are wired wrong. One activates The water dispenser. The other the ice maker. That, why every so often the water shoots out on the floor. The ice maker is telling the valve to open.

I HAVE A MSD2454GRW, 23.5 CU, MAYTAG AND ICE BUILDS UP ON THE FLOOR OF THE FREEZER TO A POINT WHERE IT RUNS ON THE FLOOR. CAN CLEAN IT OUT AND 12-15 HOURS LATER, ITS BACK.

Your ice maker is overflowing and asking for to mush water to make the ice, you may have a real hi water pressure on your water supply
the is a easy way to adjust that but you are going to have to take
your ice maker out
then using a flat head screw driver remove the white square cover
you will see a gear and a adjustment screw and a lever like this
( - I + )
turn the screw to the minus sing a quarter way and install the ice maker back up.
Or a easier way is just closing the water valve before your fridge a little so it wont have so mush pressure and will not fill your ice maker so fast.
the ice maker feel up buy time not buy water level.
