Apex gb4308 43 inch projection tv

Gents. I have a problem with my tv. overnight it changed from good picture to horizontal line 3/4 way up the screen with angled vertical picture and color distortion. Any ideas?

Thanks, where can I get repair parts for this model tv, also it has affected the sound, there is a humming or buzzing that was not there before.

It looks like the convergency ICs failed on your TV. The IC numbers are STK 392-040, they are mounted on a big heatsink.
This may not be a DIY project, so I would suggest to take the TV to a repair shop.

May be due to improper fast power-on. Power off the projection TV, then
power it on again.

Replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact replace them. Once the parts are in place perform the alignment.

CRX3401 is the chassis designator for bridge rectifier in the power supply. Check your board again for correct resistor designator.

Three coloured lines appered on the screen - no picture

If there is no picture and 3 vertical lines in the center of the screen, stop. Turn off TV. You have no horizontal deflection happening. Lines will burn into crts and be permanently visible after repair.

No horizontal deflection is caused by Horizontal sweep circuit failure, maybe flyback transformer and associated components. More than a simple do-it-yourself repair.

I have a KF-42E200A Sony Bravia LCD tv. Recently we had to replace the lamp. Since then a horizontal line appeared at the top of the screen and it has grown to about 3 inches now. The picture itself is...

The lenses in the TV are more than likely misaligned due to heat from lamp. The heat can cause the lenses to move and the red shaded horizontal line appears over time because the lenses fall out of alignment.

You just need to have the lenses realigned and the red shading will go away.

Toshiba 52WM48 - Dark line across top of screen about 4 inches

replace the vertical ic, LA 7833 and four capacitors near it, i encountered this last two days.change the parts and it ok now.
cost of this parts is about $20.00

I have a apex GB5108 tv, the picture has become a red yellow and blue horizontal line in the middle of the tv. is it fixable

Thats vertical deflection failure . Check the solder on the vertical output IC and the Yoke plugs. If that doesnt help you may need a new Vertical IC

Horizontal lines and screen bounce

These sets have capacitors that will go bad, but without a good ERS meater that tests these in curcuit you could be spending a lot of time doing nothing, But the most common is to find the 9 volt reg on the signal board and change all within a 2 inches of that regulator

51 big screen apex tv, convergence or verticle IC?

If the lines are thin and close together running horizontally, it may be the vertical driver, but that usually takes out the resistor and sometimes the diode in the B+ for the vert. Also you must replace the caps that caused the problem in the first place.

Convergence is when you aim all three of the projectors, your tv has three, so that the images they produce all line up with each other. This usually doesn't generate a white line across the middle of the screen though, there is a button on the front panel of your set that automatically converges the three projectors, you can try using that.

I have a large horizontal black line in the middle of the screen. The line comes and goes and sometimes a 2nd line is there at the bottom of the screen. It is connected to cable and we had the cable guy in and he said it is not due to their equipment. Also sometimes if you turn the main power button off when you try to turn the TV on again you get a blue screen. You then have to play with the power button turning it on and off until it finally comes in with wavy lines...after a while a clearer picture comes in and then the black line comes back. The black line sometimes disappears and then reappears. Seems like light colored backgrounds make it appear more often as do cartoons.
