Sounds as tho there is an excess of fabric softener build up on the inside of the outter tub. Try Filling with Hot water and bleach and let set for an evening and then turn back on and e tcontinue washing thru cycle.

Small brown particles are found in filter and also what appeaars to be small grease stains on clothing what could be the problem?

The brown stains are likely coming from the felt drum seal. The OEM adhesive is tar based - and after time and use - breaks down.

You'll need a new felt seal - and the adhesive that is used should be silicone based... eliminating the brown streaks.

if it's appearing on whites mainly (hot cycle)...
This is from not enough HOT loads.

Fatty deposits gather between the basket and tub during COLD washes.

Then they are being released in large numbers when you do your whites on HOT.

It is recommended to do 1 HOT load per week.

Do an empty load with some degreaser added (like Goo-Gone) on the fullest/hottest setting you have.

Random brown stains in random loads of laundry

Hi from Australia

Ok the problem with your washing machine is that there is grease and oil stuck in the machine and the oil will dribble out when you run the machine on a different cycle if you rince with cold water then the oil stays in there and the hot water lets a little bit out as it is stuck in the pipes of your machine ok the first thing is run an empty load on full hot water even the rince cycle with 1 cup of bleach nothing else let that go through the long cycle then do the same again with 1 cup of white vinger and 1/2 cup citric acid which you should be able to get over there or baking soda try that it will clean your machine and your pipes it is great way to keep it all clean by the time you have done this you should not have any brown stains
Have a great weekend

Washer whining when washing and spinning leaving brown stains on clothes

Turn water off. Remove hoses and clean the rust out of the strainers at hose end. If they are clogged they will sound funny when water goes through them.

Iam getting brown spots on white shorts after washing with Kenmore front loading washing machine

If it's gunk or build up the marks should wash away. In this case run a long cycle using "affresh" or "washer fresh" with an empty load and use the hottest water available to help rinse the gunk out.

If the marks do not wash away, it could be grease due to a bearing failure. Listen for loud growling or grinding either by spinning the drum by hand or putting it into a spin cycle. If this is the case, the rear tub assembly (contains bearing) will need to be replaced. Not much can be done about the ruined clothes :(

Whirlpool duet front loader washer/dryer

It is not the dryer causing the problem. We get the brown streaks on our white clothes before putting them in the dryer. I have ruined more white clothes over the past six months with this Duet washing machine!!! We also don't use bleach so I don't think it is the HE/Clorox combo that somebody mentioned earlier. Anybody know what exactly is causing this yet... before I throught the moldy stain causing Whirlpool duet out?

if you do cold washs all the time you get a build up of sludge between the drums you need to fill it with hot water and let it soak for a few hours and then put through a high wash to rinse out,no clothes.Or you can remove the drum and wash it .hope this helps
