Camera beeps and turns off and lens won't retract

There is nothing you as the user can do to fix the camera, you have two choices, sent it back to the maker for repair/exchange or replace the camera.

You have a lens problem. Sure it can be fixed but be sure to get an estimate first.

I suggest that you place the camera in a safe place ware the extended lens will not be damaged, than remove and recharge the battery. After replacing the battery, the lens should automatically retract and you should be good to go. Hope that this helps, God bless...

Before sending this camera for a repair, Please make sure the focus setting is not set to "macro mode" (flower shaped).

zoom wont retrack saying zoom error

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

first check the battery... charge or replace it... else reset the camera or repair

If your lens is open and the camera turns off after those dreaded beeps, I have a fix for your problem. Basically, for this model of camera, the lens first pushes out a bit and then it retracts into the camera. Well, my lens got stuck on the pushout and it prevented the camera from turning on. I used some finger pressure and wiggled the lens a bit. Then I turned it on and it retracted to where is was supposed to be to take pictures. Then I turned it off and it retracted into the camera. Problem solved!

The unusual beeps usually occur when the lens cannot be extended or retracted, often due to dirt in the gearing or the lens cap being left on.
Try using canned air to blow around the outside of the extension cylinder, and, putting a fresh set of batteries in the camera (it probably got stuck on since it couldn't fully retract the lens and didn't complete the shutdown).
If that doesn't work, try taking it to a camera store with repair technicians and having them take apart and clean the lens extension/retraction mechanism.
