My 2008 Ford Mustang started having problems a couple of days ago. The radio would come on and off, and at the same time the power in the car (lights, windshield wipers, power locks, power windows) would come and go. Now my car will not start and the battery appears to be dead. I try to start and hear the clicking sound. I had it jumped twice today. Both times the car turned itself off after running for a couple of minutes. During this time I couldn't shift the automatic out of park. Please advise...

Hi
it sounds like a bad earth conection, check the battery leads and ensure the black earth wire has a good tight conatct to the battery and also a good tight connection to the car body, if the wire is loose then when driving will touch on and off hence the fault.

The earth lead also go's to your starter motor and another to the cars gearbox ensure all have a good metal conatct and are tight, not rusty etc also this can be a difficult fault to find at times the wires can corode where you cant see so be
thorough when checking the wires.

Hope this helps, its the most common thing on fords bad earth connections. may take you some time to locate but im pretty sure thats the cause.

If you need any more help please email me and I will get back to you.

Regards

Dan

Have a 2008 Maxima SE-all interior lights and trunk lights stopped working over a year ago (dashboard lights work).Replaced fuses a couple of times, works for a day or so and the goes out. Mechanic do

You seem to have a short in that fused system. Think back to when this problem started, did you have some work done such as a new radio, or a power antenna, or maybe speakers. If this brings something to mind those items should be checked. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

1996 Mustang no power to interior

I had a problem with a loss of power in my Mustang before and believe it or not, it turned out to be my starter. My starter was steadily draining all my power. I was charging the battery while i was at work and i had just enough battery to get home. Then i would charge it over night and same thing next day. Replace your starter and your problems may dissappear:) best of luck!

Check your switch. I had the same issue with mine. When the lights were on for a while the switch would heat up and the lights would go off. Once the lights were off for a while it would work again. I changed the switch and never had anymore issues.

1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

The quickest way to find a short circuit is by putting a bulb in place of the fuse. Anytime the time the bulb lights there is a load. And if the load is a shorted wire the brightness of the bulb will give you a hint. So while you're at it, finding a 'short' is a quicky...keep your eyes on the bulb. gotcha!

1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

Try checking all the grounds for the radio, over time they can weeken. If that doesn't work, put in a new ground wire with a heavier gauge, that should fix it. It sounds like a ground problem.

Good luck, Daniel
