This all probably comes a couple years too late, but when you install a new lamp, you’ll want to reset the hours on the counter your television has. Doing this will allow you to avoid getting any messages about the lamp needing to be replaced despite you having a new lamp inside your set.
If you need to get into the service menu, you can do so by following these directions:
With power on, hold down VOL minus button on projection display and hold down the PIP or SPLIT button (try both) on the remote simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.

How to reset the lamp meter on a panasonic pt-52lcx16

Panasonic Projection TV Lamp Timer Reset
Your lamp will probably last a lot longer than the TV thinks it should. This procedure will reset the lamp timer so you don't have to look at that annoying message every time you turn your tv on. Remember that the "lamp" indicator light on the lower left of the set will stay on until the lamp is actually replaced. I had to buy a replacement lamp to get this information, could not find it anywhere for these model numbers.
Press the volume down button on the projection display and hold down the zero button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete, a message will display that the lamp timer was reset to zero.
This procedure will work for Panasonic models: PT-52LCX66 , PT-56LCX66 , PT-61LCX66 , PT-52LCX16 , PT-56LCX16 , PT-61LCX16

TV shut off and cannot turn back on

If your tv is around 2-4 yrs or used 6000-8000 hrs, never replaced the lamp before it could be time to replace it.The other most common failure is the board that powers the lamp, which is called the ballast. When its bad it will make a clicking sound or like wanting to turn on.The part # for your lamp is TYLA1000 you can find it here:http://www.discount-merchant.com/Panasonic-TY-LA1000-Lamp-DLP-TV-bare-lamp-p/panasonic-ty-la1000-lamp.htm Good luck and God bless you!

Projection lamp timer reset

I need help resetting the lamp timer. Is there a way to reset the timer w/o the remote? We bought this tv as a floor model 4 yrs ago and they didn't have the actual remote that came with it, so they gave us another remote that works. We replaced the lamp but we keep getting the message that the lamp needs to be replaced and the timer reset. Plus the red lamp indicator is still on. We even used a friend's remote (he has the exact same tv) and it still will not reset the timer.

Jerico, If you will go on dlp lamps .com I believe they answer that question in their FAQ. You can also give them a call. Look on their site for number. All I know is that they make the whole process really easy.

The 3 times LED code points to no fan rotation. There are 2 fans. Check the larger fan first, p/n = FBL12G12LS, located near the lamp. Even though that fan may be rotating, it may be slow.
