How to operate a usb mp3 player/memory stick

Hello,
I have never used an mp3 player before and got a dozen to use as memory and music players. But, I cant figure how to operate the actual stick/player. I can record files to it but don't know how to get the music to play.
At the moment I have text, picture and music files on the same stick.
Can you help please. I want to give some of them as gifts but, want to know how to use them before I do.

    Thanks to you goldflack.

I copied the music cd to my MediaSource Player.

Made a file that was my usb key/player and, transfered all the tracks after saving them to the MediaSource Player first.

They were transfered as mp3 files. I can play the files that are on the usb stick on my computer but, can't get the stick to play back the music.

NOTE: The stick does 'power-up' and I can go through the 6 file types on the stick but cannot open any of them.

    Higoldflack,

yes theres two windows side by sideand you can choose to move a particular piece of music from the main pane to the chosen file pane. I chose my file as the memory stick/player and moved files over from the main to the file pane.

Somtimes I chose to copy the whole CD, in which case I right clicked and picked all the tracks on the CD and they were all transfered over to the memory stick/player which was the file I chose for the songs to be saved on.

The actual option (if this is what you mean) is an arrow pointing from the main pane to what you want to save a song to. If you click the arrow which is on the deviding line between the panes a song or whole album is tranfered. With each taking about 5 seconds to copy to the memory stick/player.

If that is not what you meant can you please be more spicific and I will try to copy what you say.

As I have said the songs did tranfer to the memory stick/player, and as I clicked on them after the MediaSource Player was closed, the songs played after being clicked. So I know they are saved on the stick. I just dont know how to use the stick using the controls that the stick has.

I have copied other text files, word etc, to the stick and taken them to my library to get printed by putting the stick into one of the library computers, and it works fine. I just cant opperate any of the memory stick/players controls other than flicking between the different file type on the stick.

    I hope thats plain?

    Hi Goldflack,

    it doesn't need a 'stick'.

You may have misunderstood what I mean. I have an external Memory Stick/mp3 Player. I cant get any sound from it. And I can't even get it to go into play mode.

If you see above I have pasted the picture of the same mp3 player I have. Kbyte K-BYTE MP3 S320 MODEL 256MB

I have loaded music from my computer onto the coby. It opens on the computer and actually shows that the music is there. When I disconnect from the computer, I get no sound with the speakers. This is a brand new unit.

How to get music onto hello kitty mp3 player

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

I need to install the sylvania installation software for an mp3. I can not use the cd i was sent with the mp3 player because my CD driver is not working. IS THERE SOFTWARE I CAN DOWNLOAD? I HAVE THE 8...

If your CD is not working, then use a computer that has a working CD and copy the files off this CD disc to a USB flash memory stick. Then insert this USB memory stick into your computer that has the faulty CD drive and install the software from this USB flash memory stick.

Stuck on repeat

Hello :

I recommend you to reset your device to solve the problem .

Take a small object like a paper clip and use the edge to stick into the small reset button on the side next to the usb connection .

Or Try [ power + volume up button & hold for 3 seconds ]

..........................................................................................

Your mp3 player has two types of memory in it. The hard drive (where the music and photos are stored) and the Ram (where the firmware and active files are temporarily hosted).

When you soft reset your GoGear, it flushes the RAM, and restarts the operating system (which is why the contents of the hard drive does not get erased).

You can "hard reset" the device, by formatting the drive and resetting it to factory defaults in the Settings field. This is the closest thing to a "hard reset: that's available with an HD based MP3 player.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE !

I have purchased this flash disk and toes some

Possibly because it is not compatible with it. Each of the Memory sticks have their own style of format and if that does not fit in with that on your MP3, then it will reject it.

How to download music on a mp3 player ?

Did the MP3 player come with a CD-ROM containing software to be used with the player?

It depends on the MP3 player.

For example, the Apple iPod uses Apple iTunes software to "synchronize" between your folder(s) of music on your computer and the contents on the iPod.

Other MP3 players connect just like a USB memory-stick -- just "drag-and-drop" MP3 files from your C: drive to the drive-letter (maybe E: ?) assigned to the USB device.

Do not have a disk drive on my laptop so how do i get the mp3 player started

Hello,

Two possible ways to get software for your MP3 player could be:
1. Having internet connection: downloading from the internet on the laptop.
Getting support on the internet for Sony MP3 player is here:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/index.pl
Next enter your model number and follow the links to software and drivers.
Unfortunately there's no support for the NWZ-B135 on the web.

2. Having another computer with a disk drive + a USB memory stick: puttting the disk content on a USB memory stick on that computer, after that using the USB stick with your laptop.

I have a Centon 1Gmp3 player, have used it for one year. when I turn it on it reads "MP3 player" and does not go to my songs as it used to. it freezes and I have to take out the battery and put it back in...

which operaion system do you use?
win2000, xp, vista or such?
does PC supprt usb 2.0 ?
do you use an apple-macintosh?
(tjing s are different here!)

the PC-based Operation systems should recognize it at least as an usb-stick/removable memory storage item

if not :
- log on as administrator

goto:
settings(menu) - then : hard ware/ or system,
look for new devices, wait for feed-back:

- if recognized now, fine ! and handle stick as if it was a disk drive, format it with settings given(all music on it is gone then),

copy the files (mp3's only!), remove and test it!

or :

- if is there is driver problem, whatsoever, take down the possible error code
and come back
