Cannot start I have a Compaq Presario 3000. Problem is as soon as I plug in the Power adapter it goes on right away, all the power leds are on but nothing is on. Even if I plugged in another monitor but theres no sign. Please help

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

It sounds like the Battery is Dead or not charging. You might try a local pc shop and see if they have any laptop batteries for you laptop. Or have them test to see if the battery is charging.

Please make sure you are connecting the HDD Power connector properly.

This problem is either due to your power adapter, wall plug or the back of your lap top where the power adapter goes into. My guess would be the power adapter, they are infamous for going bad. Try wiggling the cord that connects to the power brick (black box) from your lap top.

The notebook battery may have a defect if it will not power on the notebook and if it will not hold a charge. The battery indicator light on the notebook either does not light or always blinks orange. The notebook operates correctly when connected to the AC adapter.

I have a Compaq Presario 2210US. The wireless toggle button is in front on the right side, slightly under the top of the computer. Feel for it with your fingers or use a flashlight. It glows a bright blue when on.

turn it off, pull the battery from the bottom, and try it again... chances are, the power adapter is not rated properly for the notebook, or the battery is dead and won't hold a charge anymore, in which case, recycle the battery.
