I think you've listed this under the wrong category.

You cannot delete multiple pictures on a Canon EOS Rebel XS 35mm SLR unless you do it the same way as on ALL film cameras: remove the film and pull it all out of the film canister. But this destroys all images.

If you're asking how to do it on a digital camera the answer will depend upon the exact make and model and I respectfully suggest that you repost your question under the correct subject heading with the necessary details.

How do i delete multiple photos (by the hundreds) from my nikon d60 camera? what i only know is i select the photos one by one...is there a way i can delete them by category or by date for example or by...

The best way to do it is remove your card and put it in a computer"s card reader. After the card is opened up and you can see the pictures, click on 1 picture then push Ctrl and A. This will select all the photos on the card. Then simply press delete. If you are not looking to delete all of them, you can click a picture you want to delete, then press Ctrl while clicking any other pictures you want to delete. After finished, simply press delete on your keyboard.

There is no way on the D60 that (I am aware of) to delete multiple pics straight from the camera without going to each individual one.

How do you delete multiple images from camera?

Are the pictures on a memory card? In that case, you're much better off formatting the card. If you continue to delete unwanted pictures, you'll fragment the card and ultimately you'll have problems. Every day somebody posts here with that problem. Formatting cleans things up.

If the pictures are in internal memory, select Internal Memory Tool from the Setup menu, and you can format the internal memory, deleting all the pictures. My earlier comments hold true here as well.

If you insist on keeping some pictures and deleting others, then go into the index (thumbnail) mode. Press the trashcan button, then select [Select] with up/down, then press *. Select images with the arrows, then press * to display the delete indicator on the selected pictures, Press the trashcan, select [OK], then press *.

Delete multiple pictures

The only way you can delete multiple pictures with this camera is to use the format function. This deletes all information including pictures and video from the card giving a totally blank card. You can set it to do this with internal memory also.

There is no function to selectively pick multiple images for deletion.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.
