I have a viewsonic g810 21" crt and it will make a snapping noise and the screen will zoom in and back out. How do I fix it?

Time for a new monitor, you can see if there's any time left on the warranty

Hold the FN+CRT/LCD or (it could be an icon/image of a screen) simultanesouly and then keep press the CRT/LCD key it should eventually get around to displaying an image on just the projector or projector and laptop screen

you can fix this problem , plz follow these steps :

right click on desktop>choose properties>settings>advance>monitor>screen refresh rate>choose 75 hertz

after ok the settings , you will get now ur monitor not blinking.

try turning it on and off, wait a few hours then turn it back on. it that dont work, turn it off then leave it till the next day then try. it should work.

Check the horizondal out put transistor if it is short replace the transistoror or replace the flyback transformer.

Flyback has given up the ghost at this point on computer monitors there not worth fixing because flat panels are cheaper now a days but you can use best buy recycle program to see if you can get soemthing back for it www.bestbuy.com if you find this information useful please rate fixya when your rating thanks.

We got the part in today and the hubby fixed the tv. It is as good as new. We are very happy with our $62 purchase.

It worked like a charm and took about 10 minutes to put in new part and put tv back together.

It sounds like it is on it's way out. The lifespan for a CRT Monitor is about 8 years (at most) witha  noticeable decrease in quality at 4-5 years. I have seen them last longer, but not much. I would recommend getting a new 19" LCD which can be purchased right now for under $125 online. (Still 200 at Retail store) Opening it up to clean it out is not advised. (the dust could be the only thing keeping it alive) JK

In menu, there is a selection for wide screen 16X9 or 4.3 to 1
normal width......check owner manual...................T.
